| couldn't find Kelly again. | kept on going back to the place she's working but she wasn't there. It's almost a
week since she disappeared and | don't know what to do anymore.
I'm certain that it was her who | saw and when | asked someone working in that company, | confirmed that
someone named Elle Young is working there. She's here but | couldn't find her. Is she hiding from me? | don't
know. If it's true that she can't remember me, then she has no reason to avoid me. But if she does remember,
why is she doing this?
"Let her be. She's old enough to know what she's doing"
My forehead creased when | heard dad say that to mom when mom told him that Phoebe has been constantly
leaving the house almost every night. She's sneaking and dad seemed to not give a damn. | was walking down
the stairs when | heard them and I'm instantly pissed because of dad's answer.
"What do you mean? She's just 21 years old. We can't let her do this. What if she's-"
"Just trust her."
Trust her. | laughed sarcastically, earning their attention. | gritted my teeth as | continued walking down the
stairs. My eyes never leave my dad's empty gaze.
"You don't really care about your children, huh?"

"Why won't I, mom? His younger child, a lady, has been sneaking out almost every night and that's his
reaction?"
"Pierce!" Mom walked towardsand caressed my arm, trying to stopbut | shook my head in

"You are both my children, and | know how | raised you!" Dad's cold remark madelaugh.

"You know us? Then tellnow. Am | lying when | said that Kelly is alive?"
He didn't say anything. He just sipped on his coffee, completely ignoring me.
"DAD!"
"Do you think I'd want a son who can't even control his own feelings? | don't want you to end up losing your mind
just because of a woman, Pierce!" "That woman is my life-"
"That woman is fixing her life and look what you're doing? You're ruining yours. Do you think she'd take you back
if she saw how messy your mind and life are?
My jaws dropped. Not because of what he said but because of the message it gives. He just... indirectly said that
Kelly is alive. | swallowed the lump in my throat as | fought back his cold stares.
My dad has always been cold. He's just warm and soft to my mother. There was even a tthat | thought |
wasn't his real son but considering how he reacted to what Phoebe has been doing... Is he really our father?
"What did you say?" | asked, weakly.
Dad fixed his gaze on the tabloid again and | was about to growl at him when the door swung open.

Phoebe entered and she looked really stressed. Her eyes are swollen too.
My forehead creased as | rushed towards her. "What happened to you?"
She shook her head. "I'm fine."
"Your eyes are swollen, Phoebel What the fck are you saying?"
She glanced at mom who rushed beside us too before she looked atagain. "Remember when | disappeared?"
My lips parted and | nodded. "It was Klay Carver who took you that night, right?"
She nodded. "He abducted me."
| clenched my jaws. That bastard-"
"He abductedso he can get Kelly back. He just releasedwhen Kelly came."

| feel like my head suddenly exploded. All | could hear was her name. Kelly. Klay got Kelly. | thought he was the
one who abducted her before my private villa was burned to ashes? What the hell? Did she manage to escape or
there's another person behind that fire? Fck! "Do you..." | swallowed hard as | stared at Phoebe. "Do you know

She shook her head. "I was blindfolded. But...it's an island. A secluded island. | think it's Klay Carver's
private property."
| sucked my breath and slowly nodded. | looked at dad He was just reading, not even throwing us a single glance
but the words he said tobefore Phoebe interrupted, crushing back into my mind. He knew all along and
he kept his mouth shut. | think he knows about the person who burned the villa too. He's just hiding everything
from me. For what reason? | don't know but I'll confront him after this. | just need
to...rescue her first.

"You can't get away anymore, Klay!" | growled at him as he started dragginginside the house. "Letgol
"NO!" He shouted angrily as he looked into my eyes. "I won't ever let you go, Kelly. | love you. | need you." "Did
you ask if | need you too?"
He shook his head and roamed his eyes around. "That doesn't matter. What's important is you're with me
