A Gamma's Revenge Chapter 349 Decades Ago Mateja's p.o.v.

I am not sure how to feel about all of this, and no, I'm not talking about betraying my brother Lucas or my Mother.

I am talking about my annoying Mountain Lion, who keeps pointing out how well Commander Amir looks. It is clear to see that he spends most of his toutside in nothing but a shirt and shorts.

It is clear that he trains just about every day; the shirt he is wearing is strained across the muscles of his arms. Unlike myself, his tan shows that he spends most of his toutside. I don't have much of a tan left after being forced to stay indoors for many years.

I watch the others as they start packing up everything that they brought with them for this investigation; the emptier the room becomes, the more I realize I have not made a solid plan on what to do after escaping the mansion.

I don't know anything about my mother's family or that of my father, So I need to figure out where to go from here.

"Commander Amir can help us out; maybe he knows a place where we can go and be safe from Lucas and his friends." Echo says in my head.

Echo is probably right; Commander Amir might be able to help us find a place to live. A place far away from my Mother and Lucas.

The only problem I have is that I don't know how to ask because the last tI asked anyone for help, I made the mistake of trusting the wrong person, and that is why Lucas always made sure that the nutrition I got was just enough to keepalive. I never understood why Lucas was so hell-bent on keepingclose, but I finally got an answer to that question.

He didn't needto have a strong other half if he was going to useas a dead decoy.

The more I think about his plans, the more I start to understand events from the past. The guards around the mansion and the lack of any communication with the outside world, it is all making sense.

I was never meant to survive long enough to build a life of my own; I doubt anyone rememberedbecause the last tanyone sawwas when we still had a happy family.

"We did survive, and we will build a life of our own. It doesn't mean we have to go looking for any living relatives right now. We can do that once we have settled down, and in order for us to settle down, we need to find a place to live. Just ask Commander Amir if he can help us find a temporary home." Echo says.

"What's going on in that mind of yours, Mateja?" Commander Amir asks, and as I look up, I realize that they have already packed up everything and that they are waiting for me.

"I just realized that I hadn't thought my escape plan through completely, I have no idea where to go. I don't know if there are any relatives of mine still alive, and if they are, I'm not sure if they would want to see me." I answer him.

"You don't have to worry about that. For the moment, I want you to cwith us to Crescentwood Residence. I believe it would be in the best interest of those prisoners if they aren't confronted with only males to rescue them; you and Clover might be able to calm them down better than we can." Commander Amir says.

1/2 "We can always find you a Pack to stay with after we know for sure that Lucas is dealt with. He isn't a fool, and he will realize that you sold them out when he discovers that you are gone and that we know about Crescentwood Residence." Clover says.

She has a point because I doubt anyone else would consider betraying Lucas. Either they fear him too much, or he has something he can hold against them.

"Okay, that is settled. You will cwith us for the tbeing, Mateja." Commander Amir says.

I help them get everything in the SUVS and I listen while Pedro tells one of the neighbors that we are leaving to investigate other areas. As Clover suggested, I stay out of sight; it is best if no one remembers seeing me.

By the twe hit the road, it is dawn, and we only have a few more hours before anyone will realize that I am gone, if we are lucky, that is.

"We will be notified the moment they know that you are gone; it will give us an indication of the twe have left to rescue those prisoners." HetCommander Amir says, not that I asked him for the information, but he seemed to understand that I wanted to ask. With a little luck, it will be my Mother who discovers it. It will give us sextra tbecause she needs to find the courage to address one of Lucas' watchdogs first.

Echo and I are not too fond of being inside the SUV and apparently it is obvious to Clover because she tells Commander Amir to pull over.

I get out of the SUV the moment it stops and I take huge, deep breaths to calm myself and my upset Shifter half it has always been like this and I know that it is why I never witnessed a move in my life; they would drugto make it easier. "Sorry, this will happen a few times along the way. I have tried just about everything and there is only one way that actually helps, drugging me." I say once I have calmed down.

I turn my head back to the SUV when I hear a loud roar behind me, and I see Commander Amir's eyes changing color; his Wolf is close to the surface.

"Neither of them likes what you said, but I believe it is the way that you said it that has then fulous. It that has sounded as if it was normal for you to get drugged if you had to be in a vehicle." Zeke says. "The last tI was awake during a drive, was after Lucas' Father rejected my Mother." I respond, and that was decades ago.
