Jilted Bride 255
Chapter 255
Until dawn, with the sound of rain outside, Ophelia lay on the soft bed, drifting into a deep sleep.
With Kenneth holding her, she slept soundly, not waking up until the afternoon, when the rain finally stopped.
Kenneth was still beside her, gazing at her with tender eyes.
"I've taken care of everything. How about we go on a vacation today?" Kenneth's voice was low, tinged with a bit
of raspiness.
"Okay. How long are we going for?" Ophelia turned over and found herself pressed against Kenneth's chest.
Ophelia instinctively wrapped her arms around Kenneth's waist and buried her head in his embrace.
"About a week," Kenneth replied.
Ophelia did the math in her head. "That works perfectly. We'll be back just in tfor June 1st, and then we can
go straight to get our marriage license."
And it would soon be their one-year anniversary together.
"Get up. Pack your things," Kenneth said, gently tapping her shoulder.

Ophelia, like a little cat, snuggled closer to him.
Then she stretched and, feeling a little sore, sat up on the bed.
Kenneth's hand gently moved to her lower back, massaging it for a moment to ease her discomfort.
"I've made arrangements with your company. | had Mark assign a couple of people to help out, so you don't have
to worry. Just relax," Kenneth reassured her.
He had already taken care of everything that she was concerned about.
Perhaps because of the events from the day before, Kenneth wanted to take her away for a little break to clear
their minds.
The rain outside gradually let up, and the clusters of pink roses, dotted with raindrops, shimmered in the warm
sunlight.
Scattered petals, knocked off by the rain, lay along the path, creating a beautiful scene.
The itinerary for the island was quickly arranged.
They caught a flight the next afternoon, which took about four or five hours.
By the tthey landed, it was just dusk.
The sun, sinking slowly toward the horizon, painted half the sky in a fiery red.
This tof year, many people were vacationing, and the island resort they were staying at had just opened, still
in its soft launch phase, yet there were already plenty of visitors. Compared to the busy resort hotels by the
beach, Kenneth had chosen a much more secluded place to stay.
The architecture was reminiscent of Rosewood Manor's semi-detached villas, but more accurately, it resembled
the place Kenneth lived in Milagia.
There was an enormous mountain-view swimming pool, offering a panoramic view of the entire resort area and
the deep
blue ocean.

After they unpacked, the sky gradually darkened.
The surrounding lights con one by one, more beautiful than the stars, like a galaxy spilling down to their
feet.
Ophelia, wearing a comfortable white dress, rested her hands on the glass railing and gazed at the view below.
The evening breeze blew through her long hair, which cascaded like seaweed, and her delicate face appeared
vibrant and radiant.

Ophelia heard the sound of a camera. Turning her head, the sea breeze lifted her loose strands of hair, and her
innocent, captivating eyes met Kenneth's, just as she noticed the phone in his hand. Click!
He took another shot.
Kenneth nodded in satisfaction.
"What are you doing?" Ophelia asked softly, walking over to peek at the photos on his phone.
"I heard that when regular couples go out, the guy usually takes pictures of the girl. Csit on the swing, and
I'll take a few more pictures of you."
Ophelia, feeling much more relaxed on the trip, obediently sat on the swing as Kenneth had suggested.
Her graceful legs swayed back and forth in the
