Chapter 313
Chapter 313 The Thread Finally Broke
The next day, Bella received a call from a hospital where she had previously applied for a job, notifying her that
she could start working there.
She numbly accepted the offer but couldn't bring herself to feel happy about it. Did this mean that Dominic had
finally let her go for good? In that case, why didn't she feel the anticipated relief and freedom? The invisible
thread connecting them had finally snapped.
She went to the hospital in the afternoon to complete her onboarding procedures. She was scheduled to start the
next day. Since the cardiac department wasn't short-staffed, she had been assigned to the emergency
department. Though the emergency department was hectic and required frequent overtime, that didn't bother
her. The busier, the better. Keeping herself occupied was the only way to keep her mind from wandering.
Later that evening, Lia returned to their apartment. When Bella mentioned her new job and suggested going out

Bella forced a lighthearted smile. "Isn't that good? If he doesn't letgo, | won't be able to live my life."
Lia sighed. "I didn't expect you two to get together, only to break up so soon."
Bella didn't want to relive their argument on the day they broke up. Dominic had said struly hurtful things in
his anger, holding onto past grievances for years. He even dragged Dorothy into it, leaving her feeling utterly
devastated. At that moment, she truly realized that their relationship was beyond repair. The deep-rooted thorns
embedded in their hearts couldn't be removed. Every tthey flared up, they would

This was the fundamental reason for their breakup-everything else was just a trigger.
Since the hospital where she worked was far from Lia's apartment, she began looking for a place to rent closer to
work, making her commute more convenient.
After a week on the job, she moved into a rented place. It was a simple stuapartment. Although it was small,
it was enough for her to live alone.
The landlord was a woman about Bella's age who had decorated the apartment tastefully. Her only requirement
was that Bella take good care of the place.
Although Bella didn't have much money, she valued a certain quality of life. Due to her profession, she had a bit
of a cleanliness obsession, so the landlord readily agreed to rent the apartment to her at a reasonable price.
As she gradually adapted to her new surroundings, she started getting to know her colleagues/ in the hospital.
Being a slow adapter, she wasn't particularly good at initiating social
interactions.
Besides Lia's fiery personality, it was unlikely that she would becclose friends with anyone else. Most of her

after work, she returned home, showered, and heated ssausages. Just as she sat down to fill her stomach,
the doorbell rang
Since she didn't know anyone in the area, her first thought was that she had made too much noise and disturbed
a neighbor. She hurried to the door and was surprised to see Felix standing outside.
She hadn't informed him that she had moved here, so she asked in surprise, "How did your know | was here?"

Felix held two large shopping bags in his hands. "I asked Lia. You don't tellanything. Do you not consider me
a friend?"
Bella scratched her head awkwardly. "No, you're overthinking it. Cin and have a seat."
As he entered and placed the bags down, he looked around before his gaze landed on the bowl
of freshly heated sausages. "Nice setup; it's cozy. | figured you'd be too busy to take care of yourself. Sure
enough, you're eating sausages so late. | brought you sconvenient ingredients."
