Chapter 295
Chapter 295 Discarded Roses
Womed, Bella made a few more calls to Felix throughout the day. To her dismay, none of the calls were
answered. He was living alone at the moment. If something were to happen to him without anyone knowing..
Later at night, she headed to his house immediately after work. When he didn't answer the doorbell, she had to
climb over his wall. Luckily for her, the villas in the neighborhood had relatively low walls.
Since this was the first tshe had ever done something like this, she felt slightly guilty. She kept looking
around. Thankfully, there seemed to be no passersby. Despite managing to get into the front yard, the door to
the house was still locked. She couldn't get inside. She knocked and called for Felix, but there was no cesponse.
She could only look for an opening to enter the house
After circling around the house, she found the window to the kitchen wide open. With a tremendous amount of
effort, she managed to clumsily climb into the open window

When she couldn't locate Felix on the first floor, she headed upstairs and bolted toward his room. Fortunately, his
door was unlocked. She opened it without any trouble
Felix was lying on the bed with his eyes tightly shut, his expression pale. Bella walked over and checked the
dilation of his pupils. Then, she checked his breathing. After confirming that he was alive, she let out a breath of
relief.
"Your methods are incredibly... professional. I'm just taking a nap," Felix suddenly blurted out
Bella jumped in surprise.
He opened his eyes weakly and propped himself up. "What
brings you here?"
She got up to fetch him a glass of water. "I heard you called in sick this moming. I tried calling you multiple
times, but you didn't pick up. | was afraid something had gone wrong, so | cby. Why didn't you respond if
you were at hthe entire time?"
He shot her a light smile. "I've been feeling extremely fuzzy. | didn't hear any sound, and | have no idea where
my phone went. Sorry for making you worry, "I'm fine. I've just caught a bad cold from the weather, that's all.
I've already taken my medication."
A bad cold? She instinctively analyzed his symptoms. He wasn't coughing, and he didn't have a raspy voice. His
nose wasn't stuffed either. He claimed to be napping, but his eyes were bloodshot a sign of severe sleep
deprivation. "There's no need to lie to me. What's going on with you?" she asked.
Felix stared at her as though he was contemplating something Then, he said, "Nothing can get past you. I've had
this issue for a long time. It'll get better in a day or two. It's not curable."
He continued, "I'm very drowsy. You can just make yourself at home."
After a moment of deliberation, Bella decided to stay. Even though he refused to tell her about his disease, she
could tell that he was quite ill. How could she possibly just leave him alone?
For the first few hours, Felix kept stiming in his sleep. He had symptoms of a low fever and kept sweating. Bella

Later into the night, he finally drifted off into a deep sleep. Relieved, she rested her head against the edge of the
bed and fell asleep as well
The next moming, she jolted awake at the feeling that something was touching her. As it turned out, Felix was
trying to drape a blanket over her shoulders.
She rubbed her eyes and got up. Upon seeing that he was no longer ill, she couldn't help but smile. "Thank
goodness you're okay now. What kind of terrifying disease are you plagued with? You should probably get it
checked out at the hospital" He evaded the topic. "Sorry for troubling you last night. My house is practically
empty. Let's go, I'll bring you out for breakdast."
Before Bella walked to the car, she caught a glimpse of a bouquet of roses on the ground a small distance away. |
