Chapter 143
Chapter 143 Ruthless
As the lightning subsided, the storm outside also stopped at spoint.
Dominic got up and walked to the window, then lit a cigarette. He only noticed Pudding had been there all along
when it cto stand behind him,
"You're too quiet, Dominic muttered.
Obviously. Pudding didn't understand him. Unlike humans, it couldn't perfectly express sadness and simply
wagged its tail silently.
Bella hadn't returned to her senses yet. She lay on the bed, unwilling to move. Her eyes were half-closed as she
watched his back outside the window, a lonely moon hung in the sky. The breeze that blew after the rain carried
a fresh scent. It drifted into the room, making her feel sleepy.

The following moming, Bella woke up from the heat. The air conditioning was still running, and the temperature
was perfectly fine. However, the warmth cfrom the body tightly pressed against her from behind. She was
practically being smothered, and she struggled to breathe.
She was surprised that Dominic had spent the night in her room. But now, all she wanted to do was get up
quickly and take a shower. She didn't want to be late for work However, she also didn't want to wake him, so she
tried her best to slip out of his embrace. But just as she started to move, his anns around her tightened, and he
whispered softly in her ear, "If you move, It'll wake up."
Bella froze. "It" had already "woken up" she could feel it.
Last night's madness had left her whole body aching, and she wasn't up for another round. After regaining her
composure, she softly said, "I'm going to be late for work. Letgo..."
Dominic nuzzled her neck before reluctantly loosening his grip. Then, he rolled over to continue sleeping. It
didn't seem like he intended to get up.
On the other hand, Pudding was quite the follower. It followed Bella wherever she went. Even when she headed
to the bathroom, it tagged along. Given that it was a female dog, Bella allowed Pudding to be clingy.
During breakfast, Bella took a bite of her sandwich, then casually tossed a little bit of her food into Pudding's
dish. It was a simple sandwich, which Pudding also loved to eat.
Sylvia suddenly stared at her and touched her own neck with a strange expression. Bella caught on and smiled
awkwardly.
"| get it. I'll... cover it up."
Sylvia grinned knowingly. "Stop playing with Pudding, Ms. Jones. You'd better hurry up and finish eating. You're
going to be late for work"
Bella glanced at the time, then stuffed the rest of the sandwich into her mouth. She grabbed her bag and was
about to leave, but then she turned back to Pudding and said, "I'm off to work, and I'll be back tonight. Be good,
okay?"
Padding wagged her tail and watched Bella leave, then quietly lay by the door. She looked like she was settling in
for the long wait.
