Chapter 1013
D*mn it!
Selena picked up her cell phone and dialled a number. "I want to see you right now!"
"I don't care! If you're not here within half an hour, you'll bear the consequences!" she yelled.
Selena hung up, then threw the phone away forcefully. Soon, the crashing sound of things falling everywhere
cfrom the room.
Nina walked around the door with fruits in her hands, then turned back into the room as she asked, "What's the
matter, Miss Duff? Why are you so angry?"
"It's none of your business! Get out!" Selena yelled.
Nina was frightened by Selena's roar, and took a step back in fear. She placed the fruit aside quietly, and saw
that the floor was covered in magazines. On the other side, Selena's cell phone was on the floor as well, and
there were large cracks on the screen. Remaining silent, Nina went over and cleaned up the place. She then
opened the drawer and took out a new tempered glass screen protector.
Very quickly, she skilfully changed the broken screen protector of the cell phone.
Before Selena realized, she was still in a daze when Nina had already done cleaning up the floor. Nina handed
her the phone, and comforted her gently.
"Miss Duff, we still have a lot of time, what is there to make a fuss about? You mustn't let it affect your health!
The weather is great today, would you like to take a seat under the parasol? The weather forecast even said that
it was going to rain heavily these few days, but it's not accurate at all. Look at the sky, it's so sunny today. The
weather just changes whenever it wants to change!" she said.
It sounded like scasual suggestions, but Selena was convinced and was inspired by her. She returned to her
senses, and she stopped when she was about to roar in anger again.
"That's true! Even the sky changes whenever it wants to change..." she said.
Was there anything that would never change? Even if it was accurate that day, who could guarantee that it
would be accurate the next day? Even if it didn't change that day, who would know if it wouldn't change the next
day? Selena seemed to have suddenly seen a glimpse of light of hope.
"So, as long as I'm alive, and as long as the sun still rises, nothing is finalized yet, right?" No one could decide
who was the winner until the very last moment!

"Err? What are you talking about, Miss Duff? | don't understand what you're saying at all. I'm glad that you're not
angry anymore, Miss Duff, everything will pass!" Nina said.
Nina scratched her head, then looked at her in confusion. "So do you want to go out, Miss Duff? Or..."
"I'll go out then!" she said.
"Alright, I'll go prepare the things!" Nina turned around, and ran towards the door. "The chefs have prepared
many yummy dishes, I'll bring the fruit and desserts out for you first!"
Seeing her silly figure disappear at the door, Selena's gaze returned to her cell phone on table, and she couldn't
help but to sneer softly.
"This silly girl, that's probably the most she can do in her life! She's from a small family, she's not too bright, and
she's not too ambitious either. Yet, once in a while, her words do make sense!" she mumbled.
At the door, Nina paused her footsteps for a moment, then continued walking.
In the patio, there was a small table and a few chairs under a black parasol. There were flowers, books, snacks,
fruits, and drinks on the table. Selena lay on the comfortable rocking chair as she scrolled through her cell
phone. Behind her, Nina applied something to her hair, that made it shine and release a faint but sweet
fragrance.
As she scrolled through her cell phone, Selena cacross many pictures with gentle and warm smiles in them,
whether they were pictures of the couple standing still, taking slow walks hand-in-hand, or staring at each other
from a distance... Their gazes were full of affection. The more Selena looked at them, the more frustrated she
was, and her movements started to get quicker unconsciously. Just as she took a pause, she caught sight of a
few large words.
'A handsman and a beautiful girl, a match made in heaven! A delightful love story about a man who settled
down for his true love!
Selena gritted her teeth so hard that they crackled, and couldn't help letting out a shout, "Beautiful? Are they
blind? Girls that look like her are everywhere on the streets!"
"Any waitress would look better than her! Besides, she's a cripple, how pretty can she be?" she yelled.
Selena didn't realize that sentence could be used on herself as well. The more she looked at it, the more enraged
she was, and she threw her cell phone onto the table. She was about to grab an apple from the table when she
felt a sharp pain coming from her scalp, and she couldn't help letting out a scream.
"Ouch..." she yelled.
Nina withdrew her hand at once, then gave herself two slaps on her face. "I'm so sorry, Miss Duff, | didn't mean
to do that. Are you okay?"
Selena turned around and glared at her. "You're so clumsy, are you trying to hurt me?"
Nina lowered her head and remained silent.
Seeing that Nina was sincere with her apology, and seeing the slap marks on her dirty face, Selena couldn't bear
to punish her for it, so she just said, "Forget it! What can | do?"
"Thank you for your forgiveness, Miss Duff!" Nina said.
As soon as she had turned around, Nina tried testing the water and carried on grooming her hair.
Selena looked down at her cell phone and continued to speak.
"Nina, what do you think that woman had done to him? He's such a prideful and cold man, so what tactics did
she use to get him?" she asked.
What did she do to get him to be so
hooked to her? It was normal for him to be attracted to women when things were new and exciting, but he was
rarely ever patient to them. She couldn't imagine that he was willing to give up on his career for a woman who
was nearly crippled! The Clements family educated their boys
with the phrase 'Taking o
the
world comes first, then comes the
women'. Therefore, despite
prioritizing a healthy and
harmonious family relationship, they
viewed it as a taboo for their
children to date at a young age.
That was also the reason why her and Trevor were separated very soon after they were noticed to have started

Failed relationships were common
experiences, but with the education
of the Clements family that instilled those teachings in their

subconscious minds, those experiences were either diminished or postponed to a later age. Although they never
interfered with their relationships directly, but those potential problems were postponed to happen after they
turned adults.
That was also the reason why Trevor never left with her when she was sent to Korea back then, despite them
being reluctant to separate. That was one of the reasons why Trevor didn't choose to be in the splace as
Selena.
Hence, the men of the Clements family saw their careers more importantly than women!
Therefore, Selena was puzzled then. How was it that Victoria was able to get him to do something that she had
never been able to get him to do so easily?
She was the one who knew Trevor since they were kids, and they were supposed to have a deeper relationship!
Her gaze fell upon the picture of him on her cell phone, of him guiding her to walk, as if he was a father
supporting his daughter. Selena couldn't help but to sigh again.
She appeared out of nowhere, and got married to him so soon, without a warning at all! How did that even
happen? What went wrong? Also, to her surprise, they didn't break up or separate after that incident which was
the best opportunity given by God, and instead they even got closer to each other!
"Why does he treat her so differently? Is it just because she's lucky, and got married to him first?" she muttered.
"Miss Duff, I don't think you should
worry about this! It's a good thing that Master Trevor is a kind man who viewed relationship so importantly, you
should be glad! f he's willing to spend so much ton looking after her, he'll probably be willing to spend as
much ton looking after you as well in the future if anything goes wrong, am I right?" Nina said.
She explained, "After all, her injury was pretty severe this time. Even |, as a stranger, would take pity on a
person who got crippled out of nowhere, let alone someone who was close to her! And Master Trevor is so kind..."
"Master Trevor is the kindest man I've ever seen!" Nina said.
As Holger approached them, he overheard their conversation, and his heart sank right away.
