Pearl immediately went quiet after he said that.

“What? Why aren’t you saying anything? Do you disagree with what I said?” Richard frowned, clearly displeased.

Pearl shook her head and then pointed at her belly. “What if I need to use the restroom?”

Richard replied, “That’s not a problem. I can stand guard outside the door.”

Pearl retorted, “No way. You’d become an internet sensation in no time. ‘Mister Richard Waldorf guards the

restroom door.’ Would that be a loss of morality or the end of civilization?

Her comment wasn’t particularly polite, so Pearl decided to stop speaking, fearing that Richard might become

angry with her.

Richard asked, “So, what’s the issue with me waiting for my girlfriend outside the restroom?”

Pearl didn’t want to argue about personal preferences, as she didn’t believe Richard would actually wait outside the

restroom in such situations.
