Chapter 2020
"Very well, Jeremiah. Your company is mine now, but you can handle the handover procedures. You can also serve
as chairman. I'm new to Ocean City, and your company is just a stepping stone for now."
"Sure, sure." Jeremiah nodded.
"Don't play games, or I can't guarantee that you and your family won't suddenly disappear. You've seen what I can
do, and this is just the tip of the iceberg."
Jeremiah's forehead was already dripping with cold sweat when he heard this.
He said nothing but silently nodded to Sean.
Therefore, Jeremiah, who had fired the eyesore in front of him, immediately went to deal with the company's
handover procedures.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtNew investigators were quickly brought in, making Sean's work much more efficient.
An hour later, someone shouted, "This seems to be it."
Sean immediately came over when he heard that.
Several figures were on the screen in front of him. Although he could not see the face, he could distinguish from
the figures that there were several men and one woman.
The woman seemed to be dragged along.
There was no more movement after they entered the place.
"Where is this?"
"A demolition notice has been issued for No. 30 on Tiger Avenue. It has been emptied."
"Get me the footage from this period."
Sean said and quickly looked it up again.
No one came out since they went in, so there must be some other route.
Judging from the back, the woman had a 90% resemblance to Willow.
"Zander, come with me."
"Got it."
Sean led Zander to the exact location in the surveillance footage—No. 30 on Tiger Avenue.
It was an old building with old-fashioned heating.
It looked old from the outside. The blotchy walls made it look older.
After entering quietly, Sean and Zander looked around for traces of recent use.
As long as the door showed signs of recent use, there was no way to fool them.
In front of the door of the second unit on the fourth floor, Zander nodded slightly to Sean after coming down the
stairs.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmHe already confirmed this was the only place with signs of recent use.
Sean put his ear to the door to hear what was going on inside.
Six people were sitting in the living room.
The people inside were talking.
"Oh, how do you explain this time?"
"I know, right? I thought this was a huge deal, and our men worked so hard on it. Look at what happened." A man
with a cigarette in his mouth clapped his hands hard. "F*ck, why do you think we ran into our nemesis?"
One man sighed. "Yeah. It's alright that we ran into them. We can settle this by taking the money while handing the
person over. Is our enemy’s money nothing? The Boss is so stubborn! He refused to listen. He insisted on detaining
the person and raised the original price tenfold."
"Will they pay us? I'm afraid we'll get into a fight over this. Who knows whether we'll survive this?"
Outside the door, Sean frowned slightly when he heard these statements.
Judging from this conversation, it sounded like they had kidnapped her.
He kicked the main door. The whole door fell inward as it cracked. ’
