Aurelia wrapped her arms around him protectively, "Skyler, calm down, I'm here for you. I'll always have your back." Skyler, his heart brimming with vulnerability, leaned into her shoulder and began to cry.

Whether Skyler is an adult or a child, he deserves respect. How would you feel if | called you out in front of everyone, saying you were not in your right mind?" To Aurelia, Tanya's actions seemed too deliberate. The more she insisted on broadcasting Skyler's illness, the more Aurelia was convinced there was no illness at all. It seemed like an attempt to cover up something else.
William reached for a tissue and gently cleaned Skyler's tears.
"Don't cry, Skyler," he said softly, "I know you're not sick. It's probably your twin, Geoffrey, impersonating you, causing trouble, and framing you for it." Tanya let out a weary sigh, "There's no such person as Geoffrey. Geoffrey is him, and he is Geoffrey. | admit, | wasn't thinking straight earlier. You all are his friends, and | thought it was essential that you know about his condition so you can encourage him to take his medication." Aurelia responded, "There's no need to worry. Skyler might have dysnoesia, but he's incredibly sharp and can take care of himself. He's earned four Ph. D.s and three Master's degrees, one of them in pharmacology. Does he need medication? | trust him to make that call. After all, none of us have his expertise." Tanya reached out to caress Skyler's head, but he recoiled because he disliked Tanya.

Skyler sniffled, "You're lying. You've always praised Geoffrey and wished | could be more like him. You said only Geoffrey could handle the big responsibilities. That I'm just a fool, incapable of anything but bringing you shame." Tanya countered softly, "Skyler, I've never said such things. Those are delusions from your illness. Whenever you become Geoffrey, your personality changes drastically, and you do terrible things that scare Hanson and me." Skyler clenched his fists, "I'll find Geoffrey and prove that I'm not him." Her eyes brimming with tears, Tanya continued, "Skyler, I'm very sick. | don't have much time left. If I'm gone and you spiral out of control, who will protect you? | can only rest in peace if | know your illness is cured.” She bowed her head, silently cleaning her tears, the very picture of a worried mother who couldn't bear to leave her child behind.
Aurelia was no longer sure whether Tanya's words were genuine concern or if she was acting to hide the secret of Geoffrey's existence.
"Tanya, | promise you Leopold and | will protect Skyler," Aurelia stated confidently, "Even if he really is ill, even if he becomes someone else, we'll take good care of him and ensure no one can hurt him." Tanya studied Aurelia with newfound curiosity.
Was she genuinely kind to Skyler? What was her angle? Aurelia couldn't possibly gain anything from Skyler, and he wouldn't be able to help her reclaim her position as the matriarch of the Stirling family.
Was she the reincarnation of Mother Teresa? Was she born with innate goodness and purity? "Aurelia, you truly are a good kid, no wonder Skyler likes you. But you can't keep indulging him, and it'll spoil him rotten." Aurelia smiled warmly, "Skyler is very sensible. In fact, there's a lot | could learn from him."
