Chapter 583 Avery Is The Victim
The information mentioned that Allie was the one who accompanied Claire when she gave birth at a clinic.
Cayden paused when he saw that. Then, he flicked to the next page, scanning through the information quickly. The
background search recorded every piece of information about what happened twenty years ago in detail.
According to an inside source, Claire had given birth to a premature baby due to exhaustion after rushing around
trying to settle some issues. As time was running out for her to arrive at the hospital safely, Claire could only go to
an unknown gynecology clinic near her for she was in a remote location. The obstetrician who was in charge of
Claire was Yara Lynch. Yara had asked Claire to execute a medical waiver because she was bleeding out.
While the latter was unconscious, she gave birth to a healthy baby girl.
At that moment, Allie implored Yara to use a dead infant to pose as Claire's daughter by agreeing to give her some
monetary compensation.
After that, Yara took the massive sum of cash and left the country while Claire's baby went missing.
Cayden went through the information twice before putting the file down.
No one can keep a secret forever unless they are dead. Even though Xavier spent quite some time gathering all
these pieces of information, he discovered everything that I needed to know in the end.
Cayden stood up without a word as he placed his arm on the windowsill, staring at the view outside his office. The
sun shone on him, accentuating his tall and majestic figure. He was stunningly gorgeous, and even Xavier was
sometimes enthralled by his side profile.
Xavier paused before adding, “Mr. Moore, Mrs. Moore has something to do with this baby-swapping accident.”
Restlessness and frustration overwhelmed Cayden when he thought about the investigation result and how it

Xavier lit it up.
“Where's Yara Lynch now?” Cayden questioned.
“She was back in the country a few days ago to visit her relatives, but she has returned to her place overseas now,”
Xavier stated slowly.
“According to my investigation, Mrs. Moore met her once about a month ago. We had no idea what Mrs. Moore said
to her, but Yara quickly left the country the next day. Oh, right. Mr. Moore, I had a feeling that two influential forces
were trying to stop me from investigating this matter while I was in the process of doing so. It seemed like there is
someone out there who doesn't want me to find out the truth.”
A gleam of sternness flashed across Cayden's face. “Do you know who are those influential forces?”
“One of them has to do with the adopted daughter of Mr. Lambert, Nicole. The other one is... Mrs. Moore.”
Cayden took a puff of his cigarette furiously. That made Xavier realize that Cayden was not feeling his best now.
Evidently, Cayden was in a foul mood. It made sense for Nicole to stop Xavier from getting to the truth, but Cayden
hadn't expected Allie to be involved. He had always known that Allie was a selfish and vain woman. But the extent
she had gone to replace Claire's baby with a dead infant and cause the latter to suffer for so many years appalled
him. Moreover, Allie was trying to stop others from finding the truth now.
Didn't Mom know that Claire's mental state had deteriorated since then because she lost her baby? Claire only
became normal again after adopting Nicole. Mdm. Wright told me Mom, Claire, and her were best friends. There
were even photos of them at home, so why did Mom pull a stunt like this all those years ago?
Even though none of the information he had gotten was related to Avery in any way, an intelligent man like Cayden
guessed that she was the baby who was swapped after piecing the puzzles together.
From how much Mom hated Avery to when she objected greatly to our marriage, even to the point of making up
lies about Avery and me being siblings to break us up.
Cayden knew Allie was married to Leonardo before. She had thought of her married life to the man as a humiliating
experience, so she didn't want to mention that phase of her life at all. So when Allie told Cayden that Avery was his
sister, Cayden didn't trust her. With the support of the DNA result, Cayden was even more confident that Allie was
lying.
However, at that time, he was immersed in his joy of not being related to Avery that he didn't bother to continue
delving into the secret behind Avery's background.
To Cayden, everything was fine as long as he was not related to Avery, and he didn't care about anything else. But
now, when he thought about it, it seemed like there was something amiss about Avery's identity.
It never crossed my mind that Avery could be Claire's biological daughter.
With most of his suspicion addressed, Cayden flicked the cigarette ash into the ashtray. “Look into Yara's
background, and get the overseas address of her current residence. If necessary, you must fly over and follow up
on this. I want to know everything from A to Z.”
Yara was the witness and culprit behind the incident all those years ago. If Avery was indeed Claire's daughter, and
if she wanted to return to Claire's side, Yara must be here to act as a witness to support Avery's claim.
“Noted,” Xavier complied before leaving.
Meanwhile, Cayden stood rigidly straight before the window with the golden rays illuminating him. He had no
expression on his face as he pondered.
Avery has been staying in the Rumpley residence for over twenty years. She has an unwavering dependence and
trust in the deceased Leonardo, the sick Aunt Alina, and Old Mr. Moore. I think she wouldn't be able to take it if she

take it personally if she knows the truth. However, no matter what happens, Avery has the right to know. If she
decides to do anything, I will support her unconditionally.
In the blink of an eye, it was the fifteenth of the month again, the day to go home for a meal at the Moore
residence, so Cayden led Avery home.
As they arrived earlier than expected, Jeffrey and Lily were out on their morning workout routine and had yet to
return, while Kendrick was still nowhere to be seen. Only Allie was at home, eating her breakfast leisurely.
“Welcome home, Mr. Moore.” The housekeeper took the male slippers off the shoe rack and placed them before
Cayden.
She was about to bring out the female slippers for Avery when Allie threw the coffee mug onto the table.
Allie scolded, “Lydia, not everyone is welcome here at the Moore residence, and you don't have to serve those lowly
women.”
Her sarcastic remarks caused Lydia to freeze in place awkwardly. With her gaze fixated on Cayden's darkened
expression, Lydia didn't know whether to give Avery the female slippers.
As for Avery, she looked at Allie calmly, having gotten used to the latter's horrible attitude toward her.
Cayden took the slippers from Lydia, kneeling to help Avery change into them gently. “Lydia, you can go ahead with
your work. I will handle this.”
Allie watched him do that as frustration filled her.
What a henpecked husband Cayden is! He has never been so considerate with me before. Yet, he does everything
for Avery. I was right! Avery is indeed a cunning woman!
