When Avery noticed Cayden was staring at her, she joked, “What's the matter? Are there flowers growing on my
face?”
Upon snapping back to his senses, he smiled at her affectionately. “No, but you're more beautiful than any flowers
in my eyes.”
She blushed as he pecked her on the lips.
In her periphery, she saw plenty of customers and children dining with their parents in the shop. Realizing that, she
felt her cheeks burning even hotter. “Stop messing around. There are many people here right now.”
Naturally, Cayden knew he shouldn't act intimately with her in that sort of setting. Still, he tweaked her nose, his
favorite way of expressing his affection. “Let's head home.”
Then he took her out of the shop.
As an international metropolis, Ackleton was brimming with a luxurious atmosphere. The city was lit with neon lights
after dark while its roads were clogged with vehicles. Both combined to make the city appear as though it was a
moving galaxy.
Cayden drove Avery back to the Moore residence since the family was having a dinner gathering that night.
He wanted to use the opportunity to announce his marriage to Avery to the family.
Meanwhile, Avery was utterly oblivious to his plan. She felt a little uneasy and uncomfortable, which was par for the
course whenever she visited the Moore residence.
However, it was Cayden's home. Oftentimes, it was Rory's and Zachary's, too.
Thus, regardless of how much she disliked the place, she had to learn to accept it.

As usual, she felt stressed dining with the Moore family, but it went better than expected.
While Jeffrey was treating her better, Allie and Lily still gave her cold looks, which she ignored.
She took care of her children at the dining table like always.
Jeffrey, who had been observing her in secret, was increasingly satisfied with her. Avery really is a sweet and gentle
woman. While her background and family aren't great, her personality and appearance are top-notch. She's good
enough to be my granddaughter-in-law.
Halfway through their meal, Cayden put his cutlery down, gracefully wiped his hands, and announced, “Today, I
have exciting news to share with you all. Avery and I are getting married on the first of May.”
Aside from the excited twins, everyone was stunned.
Jeffrey glanced at Cayden and uttered in a deep voice, “I won't interfere in your matter. I simply hope you won't
regret your decision.”
As for Allie, she lost her appetite after snapping back to reality and responded by slamming her cutlery on the
table.
Glaring at Avery, she spat, “No, I disagree.” Then she turned to Cayden and said, “You can have a romantic
relationship with this woman, but I won't allow you to marry her!”
She still couldn't accept the fact that Avery was going to be her daughter-in-law.
The sole reason she hadn't made a fuss about the couple's relationship was that Avery was now pregnant, and Allie
wanted a grandchild. In reality, she still hated Avery.
Allie planned to wait until Avery gave birth before chasing the latter out of the family and picking a socialite with an
excellent background to become Cayden's wife.
Therefore, his announcement to marry Avery on the first of May came as a shock to her.
Even though Lily was only staring at Avery's abdomen silently, her eyes had an unconcealable smugness swirling
within. I didn't expect Cayden to be genuinely interested in marrying a woman without a notable family
background! When the time comes, Kendrick will definitely marry a socialite from a good family!
Meanwhile, Kendrick was enjoying his meal as he remarked, “Congratulations on your marriage, Cayden. I'll be your
best man during the wedding.”
In response, Allie shot a deadly glare at him, but he ignored it.
Allie persuaded, “Getting married on the first of May is too early, Cayden. There are only two months left! The
wedding preparation will be a rush. You're my only son, so something as important as your wedding must be done
well! Otherwise, outsiders will laugh at us! How about you wait until Avery gives birth? What do you think?”
Holding Avery's hand, Cayden insisted, “Mom, Grandpa, I came here today only because I want to tell everyone that
I'm marrying Avery on the first of May. Whether any of you agree to it or not, the wedding will take place on that
date. If you attend my wedding, I'll welcome you with open arms. If you don't, that's fine by me, too. Soon, I'll hold a
press conference and announce our marriage to the world.”
His silky voice reverberated in the large dining room. Everyone had different thoughts about his statement.
The Moore family was stunned speechless by his powerful words.
Meanwhile, the twins thought their father was so cool because even their great-grandfather and grandmother

feared him.
As the thought of their parents getting married rested in their minds, they ate happily.
Jeffrey sighed. Cayden's just like his good-for-nothing father. He has been opinionated ever since he was a child.
Now, he's even more assertive, so much so that I can't influence his decision at all. Since I can't change his mind, I
may as well just go along with it.
He proceeded to discuss the details of the wedding with Cayden and the betrothal gift to the Rumpley family.
After all, Cayden was his eldest grandson. Thus, everything had to follow procedure lest he risked bringing shame to
the Moore family.
Allie was utterly furious that Jeffrey, Kendrick, and Cayden talked about the wedding while completely ignoring her
opinion.
Since her appetite was gone, she gave an excuse, saying she was feeling unwell, and headed upstairs, unwilling to
look at Avery even a second longer.
At the dining table, Jeffrey inquired, “Let me know when your grandpa and aunt are free, Ery. We'll have a meal
someday to discuss the wedding and deliver your betrothal gift...”
Avery had spaced out, still in disbelief that everything was going smoothly. I thought getting married to Cayden
would be difficult, so I didn't expect Jeffrey to agree just like that!
Because she was so deep in her thoughts, she didn't hear what Jeffrey said.
It wasn't until Cayden pinched her hand that she snapped back to reality. “What? Are you talking to me, Old Mr.
Moore?”
Jeffrey was pretty delighted by his grandson's marriage, so he didn't notice Avery was zoning out earlier. “Pick a
good day this month so that our two families can have a meal together to chat about the betrothal gift and your
wedding with Cayden. When will your grandfather and aunt have time for that, Ery?”
