The CEO Gets What He Wants

Nicole's eyes were blazing with hatred.

Standing up, she decided to visit the Moore residence to find Allie.

She knew Allie was foolish, greedy for money, and a materialistic woman, so she planned to get the latter and

Jeffrey, who held the most authority in the Moore family, on her side. Then, she would get her parents to intervene

in the matter. In the end, Cayden would have no choice but to cave to her.

At Trident Group, after Yuvan examined Avery's body, he noticed she was fine except for her swollen wrists and

sprained muscles.

Mentally, however, she was more affected.

After all, she almost fell from the eighty-eight floor. Anyone would have gotten a heart attack from this.

Yuvan then did psychological counseling with her and prescribed her some soluble pills.

Cayden made sure Avery had entirely calmed down before letting Yuvan leave.

He did not let Avery return to the office to work after her scare. Instead, he made her rest in the CEO-exclusive

lounge.

After a moment, Cayden instructed someone to dissolve her soluble pills. Then, he handed the bowl of medicine to

her.

Avery had only taken a sip before her expression changed drastically.

She snuck a glance at Cayden and pursed her lips. Then, she held up the bowl of medicine and furrowed her brows.

“You can go and work first. The medicine is too hot. I'll wait for it to cool down before drinking,” Avery said softly.

Cayden narrowed his eyes and stared at Avery's unnatural expression. He did not reply as he turned around to

return to his office.

Avery heaved a sigh of relief.

After he left, she walked to the sink as she wanted to pour the bowl of medicine away.

“What are you doing?” An icy cold voice suddenly rang out from behind her.

Shocked, Avery nearly dropped the bowl onto the ground.

She turned around and saw Cayden leaning on the door of the lounge.

Caught red-handed, she bit her lip in embarrassment. “N-Nothing.”

Cayden stared at her in amusement as he listened to her lame excuse.

Knowing that it was obvious she was lying, Avery's face reddened as she explained, “I don't like to take medicine.

The pills Yuvan prescribed are too bitter. I simply had a minor scare. It's not so serious until I have to take

medication for it. Also, there are side effects to eating medicine. I really don't want to drink this. I know I'll recover

in a few days.”

Cayden stared at her throughout her explanation.

Seeing Avery's reluctant and troubled expression over the medicine, Cayden took the bowl and drank a huge sip.

Then, he pinned her against the wall and gripped her chin. In the next instant, his lips were on hers as he forcefully

fed the medicine to her.

Avery widened her eyes. The bitter medicine Cayden fed her turned into a different kind of bitterness.

Cayden would let Avery get her way in everything except when it came to her own body and health. He refused to

let her treat herself that lightly.

Avery's expression soured, but she could not do anything.

The bitterness of the medicine had Avery cursing at Yuvan inwardly.

Cayden stared at her as she obediently finished the rest of the medicine.

He watched her lean against the bed as her bright eyes grew a little teary due to the bitterness. Her aggrieved

expression also caused his heart to soften.

Sitting down on the bed, he shifted her to sit in his lap.

Cayden said gently, “The medicine Yuvan prescribed is very effective. You had a scare today, so your head might

hurt tomorrow. You will feel better tomorrow after eating this medicine.”

Avery also knew it was for her own good but still felt aggrieved. “It's really bitter.”

Cayden suddenly pulled a candy out of nowhere and unwrapped it.

Avery thought he would give the candy to her, so she did not expect it when he put it into his mouth.

Before Avery could react, Cayden had grabbed the back of her neck and started kissing her.

He skillfully teased her lips apart and passed the candy into her mouth with his tongue.

The bitter medicine taste still lingered in her mouth. When combined with her distinct taste and the sweetness of

the candy, Cayden found it particularly appealing.

Avery's initially pale complexion had grown rosy after the kiss. Cayden felt contented upon seeing that she was as

red as an apple.

He said, “You don't need to work anymore today. Take a nap. You can come to work tomorrow after you're fully

rested. Anyways, the company is about to go on holiday. I can help you apply for leave for the remaining days.”

Avery frowned. “It's fine. I'm okay. I can just rest for today and come to work tomorrow. There is more work at the

end of the year, so I should try to help out as much as possible.”

“Do as you like. I respect your decision. Then, I'll go and work now. Let me know when you wake up.” Cayden

tucked Avery in before leaving to handle his work matters.

After Avery had the medicine, her head felt heavy. Therefore, it did not take her long to fall asleep.

She slept until six in the evening.

Her phone was blinking as she had received notifications from her WhatsApp. She unlocked her phone and leaned

against a pillow before opening WhatsApp.

Avery had received several messages from colleagues who were close to her expressing their concerns. After all,

many had seen her nearly fall.

Touched, she started replying to their messages one by one to express her gratitude.

She noticed Cecelia and Nina had sent her the most messages. Their messages were rife with worry and concern

for her. Therefore, she created a group chat with the three of them.

Then, she texted the group: I'm fine. I feel much better after resting. Thank you both for your concern. Then, she

added a smiling emoji.

Avery's reply stirred up a commotion in the chat.

Cecelia: Avery, you're finally back in the world of the living! It was so scary today. I almost died of fright! I swear I

was almost about to give birth right then. Thank the heavens, you're fine. You have to take responsibility for my

baby. It received a bigger scare than me.

Avery: Cecelia, how about I become the baby's godmother after you give birth? I'll give the baby whatever it wants!

Nina: Heartless woman. You only think about Cecelia. I also got the shock of my life! How are you going to comfort

me? Also, where are you now?

Avery: My dear Nina, it's all my fault. I'll treat you to a big meal soon! I'm in the lounge. See you tomorrow.

Cecelia: Wow! The lounge! Is it Mr. Moore's private lounge? Ery, Mr. Moore was so angry because of you today. Tell

us honestly. Did he forcefully do anything to you in his rage? Did he pin you down and do naughty things with you?

Nina: You're incorrigible, Cecelia. How can you think of our pure Ery like that? Ahem! Perhaps someone just finished

a passionate session! We might have disturbed her!

Avery was speechless.

After chatting with them for a while, she noticed it was almost time to get off work and suddenly recalled what Allie

had told her.

Her good mood was instantly ruined when she remembered Jeffrey wanted to meet Cayden.
