Seeing that Avery had picked her dress, Cecelia said, “Ery, let's leave now that you've selected your dress. There

are bugs here. I'm feeling uncomfortable by the filthy air.”

She exaggeratedly waved her hands around them as if the air quality was truly unbearable.

Nicole's and Maria's expressions darkened as they wondered if Cecelia had called them bugs.

Infuriated, Maria refuted, “Hey, watch your words. Who are you calling bugs?”

Avery took Cecelia's hand and said coldly, “Whoever it is that responds to that.”

Maria kicked the girl with thick eyebrows and said, “Beat these b*tches up!”

Yasmin Harper, the tall and strong girl with thick brows, quickly responded like a loyal dog to Maria. She took away

the shopping bags hanging on her body, gritted her teeth, and rushed ferociously over to the two.

Yet, before she could touch the hem of their shirts, Cecelia suddenly extended her leg and tripped her.

Then, Cecelia effortlessly threw her over her shoulders. Yasmin felt the world spin around her. She lay on the

ground and groaned, struggling to stand.

“How dare you try to taunt us when you're so weak? Don't you know I have a black belt?” Cecelia shot Maria a

disdainful look.

“Cecelia, let's go now.” Avery tugged her hand.

Just when they were about to leave, Yasmin received a glare from Maria and quickly shouted in a panicked tone,

“Wait, Maria, where is the diamond necklace you just bought? I remember seeing it in your shopping bag earlier.”

Maria pretended to be shocked. “What? That necklace is very expensive. I spent more than five million on it!”

Yasmin quickly stood on her feet again and waved the receipt in her hand as she said anxiously, “Maria, the

necklace is gone. We only have this receipt left. The necklace and the box are gone.”

“Miss, did you leave the necklace elsewhere? Could it be that you left it in the accessories shop?” The salesperson's

face fell when she took in the situation.

After all, the salespeople in the shop would be held responsible when customers lost their belongings in the shop.

“That's impossible. It was inside my bag. I bought it just now.”

As Maria spoke, she deliberately emptied all her shopping bags. Then, she combed her stuff thoroughly and

continued, “I remember seeing the necklace in my shopping bag when I walked inside your shop, but after talking

to this woman, my necklace went missing! That necklace was supposed to be my mom's birthday gift...”

A few salespeople saw the receipt and confirmed it was purchased not too long ago. They started searching for it

together with Maria, but they could not stop glancing suspiciously at Avery and Cecelia.

However, none of the salespeople suspected Nicole. They knew she was from a powerful background. Given her

wealth, she could easily afford a necklace worth five million, so it did not make sense that she would steal it.

After rummaging through her stuff for a long time, Maria still could not find the necklace. Then, she pointed at

Avery and said, “My necklace went missing after I quarreled with her. She and her friend are very suspicious!”

Cecelia was furious. “D*mn! How could you accuse us? Who cares about your necklace? Look at you. I'm worried

that it will rot my neck if I have to wear your necklace!”

A salesperson suggested, “Since you were all at the scene when the necklace went missing, you are all suspected

of stealing it. Why don't we look at your bags to find the thief among us?”

Nicole had been taking in the chaotic scene all this while. She shrugged and said, “I have nothing to do with this, but

you can go ahead and search my bag.”

In fact, Nicole saw Yasmin secretly putting the necklace in Avery's bag earlier, but she decided not to meddle with

that since it was none of her business. Moreover, she was the happiest to see Avery framed as a thief, so she would

never bother testifying for her.

Avery asked calmly, “Isn't it against the law for you to decide to search our bags without a valid reason?”

The salesperson was startled by her cold voice, but she said stubbornly, “All of us are responsible if something goes

missing in our shop. Why are you afraid of us searching your bags if you're truly innocent?”

Hearing that, Cecelia immediately cursed, “D*mn it! We wouldn't come to your shop even if you paid us if we knew

we'd run into something so ridiculous!”

The salesperson was taken aback by her words, but she quickly said, “Anyway, we have to check all your bags. So

please cooperate and let us search your bags. Otherwise, things will only worsen if she calls the police for her

missing necklace.”

Nicole was highly cooperative as she said, “Check mine first, then.”

Another salesperson inspected Nicole's bag, flipping it inside out. “There is no necklace in Ms. Lambert's bag. Now,

even a celebrity has allowed us to search her bag. The two of you, please cooperate.”

“You can try touching my bag!” Cecelia waved her fists, gritting her teeth at the salesperson.

Thinking back on the scene where Cecelia, a seemingly thin lady, threw the strong girl with thick brows over her

shoulders, the salesperson took several steps backward.

Avery said righteously, “We did not steal her necklace. So who do you think you are to be searching our bags for it?

I'd like to see if you dare touch our bags without permission!”

“I'll find my necklace!” Maria reached out, trying to force her way to search Avery's body.

Avery was so busy defending her bags that she did not notice Maria reaching out for her pocket.

Right before Maria could touch Avery's pocket, a tall and strong figure suddenly pulled Avery into his arms.

Maria touched nothing but bumped into a chest as firm as a steel wall.

Shocked, she raised her gaze and saw a handsome face that was out of this world. The man looked even more

dazzling than her cousin, Dylan.

Maria was in a daze as she wondered how it was possible for a gorgeous man to exist in the world she lived in.

Naturally, Nicole also spotted Cayden. She quickly turned away for fear that he would recognize her. However, she

knew she couldn't hide from him for long.

The salespeople were also shocked to see Cayden in their shop.

They recognized Cayden as the CEO of Trident Group, who often featured in finance magazines, and they

immediately greeted, “H-Hello, sir.”

“Why are you here?” Avery asked in surprise.

Earlier, when she was trying to irritate Nicole, she lied that Cayden would come to pick her up. Hence, she was

surprised when the man actually showed up.

Cayden took her hand and looked into her eyes. “How can I not come to the rescue when people are stepping all

over the woman I love?”

Little did Avery know, after she almost got into trouble last time, Cayden had installed a hidden tracking application

on her phone. He did not do that to trace her location all the time, but he figured he could rush in time if Avery

were in danger.

Cayden had heard the commotion earlier when he arrived near the shop. Then, he understood the situation roughly

and figured someone must have framed Avery.

A fierce glint flashed across Cayden's eyes as he stared at the few ladies who stirred up trouble in the shop.

“You can try touching my bag!” Cecelia waved her fists, gritting her teeth at the salesperson.
