Chapter 166
“Are you saying that the
rumors going on about me and Lana in the company were from you? Kevan narrowed his eyes, glaring
at her.
Her head began to pound, and she began to shiver. She was even tempted to backtrack and deny
everything. Fortunately, she managed to gather her marbles, Meeting his gaze, she nodded and said.
“That’s right.”
She would rather shoulder the blame than let Kevan trace the source of the rumors to Maggie-as that
would implicate Zero and Raina. Given her relationship with Kevan-or whatever was going on between
them-he might punish her out of anger, but he would likely not destroy her completely.

“Lovely,” he said through gritted teeth.
Larissa shuddered to hear that. After that. Kevan fell silent. Picking up his utensils, he silently finished
his meal
Despite Dylan’s numerous attempts to ease the tension, Kevan remained unresponsive while Larissa
seemed very distracted. Hence, he
eventually gave up on carrying on the conversation.
Kevan threw the empty lunchbox into the trash can and glanced at his watch.
“It’s almost one-thirty. Aren’t you leaving?” he asked Larissa.
Larissa had been so overwhelmed that she hadn’t paid attention to the time. Hearing it was almost 1.30
pm, she quickly discarded the remaining contents of her lunch and rose to her feet, ready to leave.
“I need to get back to work! Goodbye, all!”
She scurried away, her speed fueled by her worry about being late for work and the urge to remove
herself from the tense atmosphere.
However, before she could get far, Kevan grabbed her wrist from behind.
“I’ll walk you out he announced.
Leaving her with no chance to refuse, Kevan took Larissa’s hand and led her out of the presidential
office.
Most employees had returned to their desks after lunch. Their gazes and their varying expressions
made Larissa extremely uncomfortable. She knew that this was what Kevan wanted-to make everyone
assume they were in a relationship to dispel the rumors.
Kevan didn’t take her to his dedicated elevator. Instead, they waited by the common elevator in silence.

fell into his embrace. Before she could react, her face was already in Kevan’s hands.
Larissa stared in a daze as his face approached hers, closing the distance between them. When his
soft lips touched hers, he closed his eyes. Meanwhile, Larissa’s eyes widened in astonishment.
With a ding, the elevator doors opened to reveal a bunch of female employees inside. Seeing them,
they covered their mouths with their hands, too afraid to make a sound.
Averting their gaze, they all fled from the elevator. As soon as the sound of their high heels stopped.
Kevan let go of Larissa.
Kevan was as calm as ever. It was as if he wasn’t bothered that his subordinates saw him kissing a
woman. Larissa, on the other hand.
blushed and trembled with anger.
