Chapter 88 - Is Daddy Coming? (Anj's POV) Earthquake! The bed was shaking, moving up and down, and | could hear my three girls screaming and something whining.
My eyes opened wide, and when | gazed at the unfamiliar ceiling, my heart panicked and thumped inside my chest. Fear that my children were in danger madeget up immediately, but perhaps | fought with gravity so much that my blood seemed to pool in the lower part of my body, makingfeel dizzy. “Argh!” A short and hushed groan escaped my mouth as my hands held my head, throbbing in pain. I blinked, almost brushing off the little thing sitting on my lap because 1 was startled and had forgotten that my kids have a puppy.
Nitro yawned and whined. “I know,” 1 almost growled and turned my head, seeing the cause of the earthquake in the bed.
“Mommy! Mommy, you're finally awake!” Leyanne beamed, already panting from jumping as if she was on a trampoline.
I had to squint to see the girls better. “Girls, stop. You might hurt yourself.” | opened my arms, and they all stopped jumping and ran to my arms. Little bodies warmth me. “Happy birthday!” | kissed the top of their heads. “Don’t grow up so fast, please,” | said, kissing them again, and my brimming tears rolled down my cheeks as | planted another kiss.
“Mommy,” Lyra Helene met my gaze and pouted. “Is Daddy coming today? He promised he would come.” My eyebrows knitted as | racked my haywire brain, thinking Sky clast night.
Leyanne escaped my embrace and ran to the table to get my cellphone. “Let's call Daddy, Mommy,” she said, giving the gadget to me. My finger slid the screen and showed it to them. “Sorry, no signal.” When three heads lowered their eyes, | wanted to curse Sky again.
“What's his excuse this time, Mommy?” Selene asked.
| shrugged and pursed my lips as | hugged my girls. “Can‘t Mommy be enough for today?” My voice was shaking, trying to fight the tears and stopping myself from cursing their father.
“But he promised,” Lyra Helene muttered, her eyelashes now wet with tears. | swallowed hard, breathing in and out before | got the courage to speak again and forced my lips to curve a hopeful smile.

“Please...” Her puppy eyes madelaugh. “Y-Yeah!” | stuttered, but | managed to chuckle. “Why would | wear that?” Her eyes widened at me. “Because we're on the most beautiful island with no name, and...” She picked up another two-piece suit and gave it to me. “Why am | even explaining to you? Wear this red one.” | took the swimsuit but placed it back in the shopping bag. | peeked at the other bags and found a comfortable spaghetti strap top and shorts. “Your prince charming provided everything, eh?” She laughed, opening the other bags and givingthe pair of underwear she knew | was looking for.
“He didn't come, did he?” | said in a monotone voice as | walked to the bathroom.
Anya followedand sat on the toilet bowl. “Nope. Not even a shadow of Sky Mars clast night.” She smirked.
Not minding Anya inside, | woke every cell of my body with the cold sprinkle of water and wondered how | managed to finish the whole bottle.
“I bet Dylan pressured you again last night,” she said, standing up and roaming around the bathroom, picking up every bottle she saw and sniffing the scent.
“Yeah, and | told him to givetto think.” | felt Anya stop for a brief second before touching another bottle.
“Good for you,” she said. “You'll make him really happy, Anj.” | smirked at her. “You're glad I'll make him happy, but you're not concerned about my feelings? Don’t you think that's somewhat unfair?” | turned to her. “Givethat one.” She turned toto givethe soap. “You like him.
