Chapter 173 You Promised To Help Me

Eileen sneered, “Anyone would be afraid to sit beside a murderer!”

Is she scared? Ha! If she was scared, she wouldn’t have been so disobedient, going out on dates with

another man!

He didn’t defend himself, so it seemed this matter was indeed true.

Well, what couldn’t he do?

Even if he were to kill someone, he could do it flawlessly.

Eileen said, “She was with you for a year, Eric. Aren’t you sad? How could you do it? She really liked

you.”

“Like? Are you jealous?” His tone was calm and indifferent.

Eileen’s eyes stared at him as if he was an emotionless monster. She wasn’t just asking about Lilian;

she was asking for herself.

She wanted to know the feeling of being responsible for the death of someone she had once loved.

Did he have a moment of regret? Will he regret the decisions he made? Has he ever sincerely cared

for

me?

Eileen took a deep breath. Forget it. He won’t say, and I can’t read his mind.

“People like you don’t deserve to be liked by anyone.”

He would face retribution. She hoped that he would spend the rest of his life alone, losing everyone

around him.

“Really? Who’s head over heels in love?”

A wave of shyness washed over Eileen’s face. She didn’t respond, but she noticed his resting on her.

Upon reaching Undella Mansion, the car came to a halt, and the two of them got out.

Eric locked the car and took out some fireworks from the trunk.

When they walked into the house, Will’s displeased gaze landed on Eileen. “Why are you back so late?

Eileen quickly explained, “Eric and I went out to buy some things.

Will stood

from the couch. “Let’s eat!”-

The housekeeper went upstairs to inform Vera.

Before dinner, they would set off firecrackers.

Everyone sat down. Eileen sat on Will’s left and started eating. Elsie didn’t come down. Although they

knew something was amiss, no one asked.

Eileen looked up and noticed the housekeeper carrying simple dishes upstairs.

The thoughts about the basin of blood she saw that day crossed her mind. Is Elsie injured? But she

went on vacation with Will, accompanied by bodyguards. How could she be hurt?

Eileen shook off the doubts in her mind. Some things were better left unthought of.

The family needed to stay up late at night. Fruits were placed on the coffee table. Eileen didn’t go back

to her room. Sitting on the couch, she flipped through a book in boredom.

Vera sat with her, watching TV.

Eric was playing chess with Will.

Occasionally, Eileen felt Eric’s gaze, making her uneasy.

After putting her book aside, she stood up and went to the kitchen. Opening the fridge, she saw milk

inside. She was about to pour a glass when she changed her mind and took a cup hot water.

Outside the large glass window, there were floating lanterns from an unknown source.

Recalling that there seemed to be one in the backyard warehouse, she stealthily made her way there

when no one was paying attention.

In a box, she found the lantern and some leftover fireworks from last year.

Exiting the warehouse with dust on her, Eileen placed the box on the ground.

Taking out a lighter, she lit the lantern, but the lighter failed to ignite it despite multiple attempts.

“Is it useless?” Eileen shook it.

Suddenly, a metal lighter appeared from the side. Startled, she dropped the sky lantern. stepping back

to create some distance as she saw him.

“Why do you walk without making any sound? What are you doing here?” Eileen asked cautiously.

“Use this. Eric casually put one hand into his pocket while offering a lighter to her with the othere

Carefully, Eileen reached out to take the lighter from his hand.

Suddenly, he grabbed her and tugged her forward. Eileen stumbled backward, pressed against his

burning chest in an ambiguous posture.

Struggling, she protested, “What are you doing? Someone might see!”

Eric’s figure was huge, almost completely shielding the petite Eileen from view. As he leaned down, the

warm breath from his nostrils cascaded down her neck. It felt as if a current of electricity was coursing

through her sensitive skin, making her feel numb.

“Even if someone sees, so what?” From behind her, Eric picked up the lantern. “You want to light this

up, right? Take it.”

Eileen twisted her body. “Let go of me first.”

“If you move and ignite my desire, I’ll use you to cool down,” he whispered, gently nipping at Eileen’s

carlobe.

Eileen’s heart pounded, unsure how to react. She stayed still, not daring to move.

As they helped each other, Eric used the lighter to light up the wick in the lantern.

The reflection of the fire danced in his eyes. They watched as the heat caused the lantern to expand.

Once the heat was sufficient, they watched as the lantern soared into the sky.

“Won’t you make a wish?” His voice was deep and pleasant.

Eileen replied, “I wish that from now on, you will stay away from me.”

Eric nodded. “This wish probably won’t come true.”

“Can

you let go now? I want to go to bed!”

“Are you hinting at me, Eileen?”

Eileen’s heart skipped a beat. Through gritted teeth, she said, “Could you stop thinking about these

dirty things all the time? Be careful not to let Vera see us.”

With that. Eric indeed released his grip.

In the end, he still cared about Vera.

Once Eileen broke free from his grip, she immediately took off running.

Eric

watched her escaping figure, his gaze darkening. Then, he looked at a corner. “Seen enough?” His

voice was extremely cold.

Terrified, Mary hurriedly walked out. Shaking, she spoke. “Mr. Eric, I-I just happened to pass by! I didn’t

see anything!”

“Scram!”

Mary nodded frantically. “I’ll scram now.”

Eileen returned to the living room, only to find it completely empty. It was already eleven o’clock.

Most likely, everyone had gone upstairs.

As usual, Eric would be staying up all night. Usually, Eileen would stay by his side.

Eileen returned to her room and locked the door.

At three in the morning, Elsie, who was running a fever, finally woke

1.

She noticed someone standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling window.

Her face contorted in pain, Elsie became restless even though she was connected to the IV drip. “Kill

him! Eric! I want you to assist me in killing him now!” She trembled, appearing as if she had lost her

sanity.

“It’s not the appropriate time yet!”

Elsie removed the needle from her hand and stumbled towards him. “If it’s not the right time, then when

is it? He took me to North Manchernius and handed me over to drug traffickers to finalize a deal. More

than ten individuals took turns violating me. Look at the scars on my body. Look at me! Look at me

now! The same thing happened to Xena in the past! Will did the same thing to Xena. He’s nothing more

than a beast!”

Elsie grasped Eric’s arm, her voice trembling. “I have gathered evidence against him and those people.

Now, once Will is eliminated, we can alter the will, and the entire Swan family will be yours! You

promised to assist me!”
