Later that night, over at First Garden, Felix took one look at the bald man's broken leg and listened to his report. After that, he flared up in fury right away.
How dare they beat his men up in his territory? That was a blatant challenge to his power, and he was going to have to take these bastards down. How else was he going to continue holding his power up? Amidst his fury, he woke Wyatt up.
Wyatt was fast asleep from his fun twith the ladies and was rather annoyed to be woken up.
"Do you know what tit is? Have you lost your mind?" he questioned irritably.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtFelix lowered his head. "Sir, one of those two bastards is a really good fighter. My men were all beaten up." "The guy was that good?" Wyatt found it to be rather unbelievable.
Felix said through gritted teeth, "Yes, he was. | didn't expect this either, else | would've brought more men with me." Wyatt fell silent for a while before saying, "It looks like these guys cprepared too." "What are we going to do, then?" Felix was getting a little anxious about his mine protection team now.
Wyatt said, "The hell are you so worried about? This is my territory. Did you think the bastard would be able to do anything?" "You're absolutely right. Tellwhat to do, then." Wyatt fell silent once more for stbefore saying, "Look for them tomorrow and bring more people over. Say they beat your men up, and you need to be compensated for your loss. If they still decide to get physical, we'll call the cops to arrest them." "You're the best, sir," crooned Felix at once.
Wyatt scoffed. "I'd like to see if he has the nerve to beat up the police. We'll have them all arrested, and only let them out if they agree to leave town. They're not going to last." "Yes, of course! I'll have my men go over there first thing tomorrow and provoke them to the point where they get physical, so I'll have sleverage," said Felix viciously.
Both men discussed a little more, and Wyatt went back to sleep.
He had been in charge of the place for over ten years and hardly thought that Wilbur and the rest would be able to do anything.
So what if they were from sbig corporation? They were in Wyatt's territory, and he made the rules here.
Having gotten used to being in power and doing as he pleased had gotten to his head, and he was a lot less wary.
He would be able to sense the danger in this if his head was any clearer, but he had lost himself to hedonism long before for any of that.
At the stime.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThe innkeeper knocked on Wilbur's door shakily. Wilbur opened the door to a positively distressed innkeeper. "Gentlemen, | don't think you should stay here any longer. Please leave while you can." "Why?" asked Wilbur.
The innkeeper looked incredulous. "Are you seriously askingthat? Do you even know who you just pissed off?" "Yeah. Felix Cohen. What about it?" "I know you two are powerful, but he practically runs this place, and no one's ever dared to get on his bad side. You just beat his men up, so there's no way he's going to let this slide. You might still be able to make it in tif you get out of here now." Skyler went to the door then with a smile. "Sir, we're not scared in the slightest. Someone's going to pay for the losses your inn suffered, too." "You might not be scared, but | am! Please consider it from my perspective and leave now. I'd still like to keep running this inn, thank you," the innkeeper practically begged.
Wilbur sighed. "I promise that you'll be fine. You have my word. Someone's coming for them tomorrow." "Con, man!" The innkeeper was frantic now. "You know that Felix Cohen and Wyatt Malcolm are in cahoots with each other. No one's going to be able to touch them at all! You're going to be on the losing end after all of this. Please just leave." "Sir!" Skyler shouted this time. "We paid for the night, didn't we? We're not freeloading here. What right do you have to kick us out?" The innkeeper was practically in tears now. "I'm doing this for your sake, as well as my own. Please, just leave." "Cut it out. We're not leaving." Skyler scowled.
The innkeeper could only let out a sigh, leaving silently.
Wilbur closed the door. "We really need to get rid of that piece of shit. Keeping him around will only bring more trouble to the people here." "Yeah. Good call on getting Faron and the rest to handle this. The people will be sure to trust the higher-ups if not anyone else," said Skyler.
Wilbur frowned. "Let's go to bed. We've got a show to catch tomorrow."
