Chapter 321

Estelle furrowed her brow and approached the woman directly, her voice icy as she asked, “Who did

you witness embracing each other?”

Startled, the woman quickly turned her head to face Estelle’s piercing gaze. Nervously, she forced a

laugh and stammered, “Oh, I was just joking around, you know…”

With that, she hurriedly retreated from the scene.

Meanwhile, Estelle returned to the ward, catching a glimpse of the woman taking a sip of water, guilt

evident on her face as she averted her

gaze.

Setting the food on the table, Estelle proceeded to feed Xavier.

After the meal, the doctor made his rounds, prompting Estelle to step out to get some water.

Carson came to see an injured friend and noticed a familiar figure in the corridor. He quickened his

pace and wanted to greet Estelle, but he saw her carrying the thermos into the ward.

Carson shifted his gaze and walked to the nurse’s station, asking, “Who’s in Room 19?”

The nurse saw his expensive clothes and extraordinary temperament, blushed, and asked, “There are

two patients in Room 19, which one are you asking about?”

Carson glanced around and smiled, “The young one.”

“Oh, he injured his leg and just had surgery,” the nurse replied.

“Who’s taking care of him?”

The nurse said, “His sister.”

Another nurse laughed, “Sister? They sleep in the same bed at night, they must be a couple!”

The nurse who was conversing with Carson let out a snort. “If they claim to be siblings, then they’re

siblings!”

The other nurse retorted, “Why are you defending him? Do you have a crush on him or something?”

Listening to their banter, Carson’s complexion slightly paled. He gazed towards Room 19, lost in

thought.

Leaving the hospital, Carson settled into his car and took a moment to ponder before dialing

Jonathan’s number.

Once the call connected, Carson playfully remarked, “Jonah, I spotted Estelle back in J City. Shall we

meet at Midnight Bar tonight?”

There was a momentary pause on Jonathan’s end, followed by his inquiry, “Where did you see her?”

“At General Hospital,” Carson responded.

Jonathan remained silent for a brief moment before responding flatly, “Alright, see you tonight.”

Carson didn’t utter any further words, simply ending the call.

The woman in Bed 2 had been questioned by Estelle earlier that day, and she vented her

dissatisfaction by gossiping about Estelle whenever she had a chance.

“Can you believe how shameless these young girls are nowadays? The guy’s leg is still immobile, and

she’s already climbed into his bed!”

“And she even drew the curtains, pretending to be shy!”

Someone asked her, “What else did you hear?”

The woman covered her mouth, unable to say anything further. She made a disgusted expression,

conveying her embarrassment. “What do you think? I’m too ashamed to even imitate them!”

Ignoring the gossiping women, Jonathan proceeded directly to Room 19.

Meanwhile, Estelle had gone to the pharmacy to collect some medication. Upon opening the door and

spotting Jonathan approaching her, she was taken aback and instinctively shut the door.

Jonathan stood there, his gaze darkening as he observed her. A cold aura seemed to emanate from his

entire being. He remained silent and started walking towards the ward.

Estelle positioned herself at the door, refusing to step aside.

She didn’t know how to explain her connection with Xavier to Jonathan, nor could she allow him to

investigate Xavier. Therefore, the best course of action seemed to be avoiding him.

The two of them stood at a standoff for approximately three minutes when Jonathan’s expression

tightened. Suddenly, a smile curved upon his lips, and he turned to leave.

Without hesitation, Estelle followed after him.
