Chapter 1564
Emily hung out with Kya for a bit then took her back to the lounge In the corridor, a kid suddenly dashed by,
knocking into Kya and sending her helium balloon flying.
Kya was mad about that balloon, so she bolted after it in a heartbeat. Emily trailed behind her all the way to the
second floor, before they managed to snatch it back. Now Kya didn’t want to leave. She stood by a white marble
railing, playing with the colorful ribbons and flowers on it.
Emily plonked herself down on a chair nearby, watching Kya play. Downstairs was the banquet hall where the
ceremony was to take place in the afternoon. Right now, though, there were only a few people chatting, the rest
probably off grabbing a bite in the restaurant next door.
A server sauntered over, bringing Emily a glass of juice and a glass of milk, plus two desserts that kids went nuts for
Kya was having a blast, plucking off flower petals and playing with them by the railing.

“I’ve been looking for you guys. I didn’t realize you were chilling here!” Mrs. James came over, her voice warm and
carrying an air of elegance and class,
Mrs. James chuckled and explained, was outside enjoying the fresh air
Emily glanced over her shoulder, through the semi-transparent screen, and sure enough, there was Charlie’s mum,
settling down on the sofa. The others flocked around her, pouring her tea and handing her cake.

Josiah’s mum, Flora Dempsey, laughed and answered, “They’ve got a bunch of friends here, probably hanging out
with them.”
Mrs. James said, “Josiah’s engaged now. You can finally rest easy!”
Flora laughed, “Since he got together with Amier, Josiah’s life has been much more steady, especially these past
couple of years working at the Lamont Group. It’s been a relief.”
Mrs. James sighed, “Josiah’s engaged and my son Charlie still doesn’t have a girlfriend.”
Flora replied, “Charlie’s busy taking care of the family business. If Josiah could help us out a bit like that, we’d be
over the moon”
Another lady joked, “Charlie’s such a catch, Who would worry about him not finding a girlfriend? My worry is he’s
got too many options and can’t decider
Mrs. James chuckled wryly. “Enough with the jokes. I’m really getting a headache over his marriage. His father and I
don’t care how much money he makes. We just want him to find a suitable girlfriend as soon as possible”
Flora laughed. “Mrs. James, what kind of daughter-in-law are you looking for? Tell me what you want and I’ll keep an
eye out for Charlie”
“A girl like Amiee would be perfect. She’s steady, elegant, and beautiful Most importantly, our families are on the
