Chapter 14 Once Cyrus agreed to attend the birthday party, Truman immediately told Redmond about it.
Zedekiah was ecstatic after he learned about it, because he intended to use the chance to repair his
and Cyrus’ relationship.
“Dad, Dr. Cohen said that Cyrus will come with him. We don’t need to give Cyrus the invitation then,
right?” Redmond said.
“Yes. Remember to drive over and pick them up,” Zedekiah said. “By the way, don’t forget to send an
invitation to the Gardner family as well.”
Redmond nodded. “I’m getting it ready.”
Zedekiah said coolly, “Marino Hunt is a powerful person in Fliton City. Why did he suddenly die?
Something strange must have happened. His godson doesn’t seem like someone who can do such a
big thing either.”
“Are you saying that this has something to do with Cyrus?”
Redmond thought that his father was a little off in his head. Marino Hunt had plenty of powerful fighters.
How could Cyrus possibly kill him? What a joke.
“There’s no way. When Marino Hunt died, Cyrus was on his way to Thousand Medicine Pharmacy. He
couldn’t have possibly killed Marino Hunt during that short period of time.”
Zedekiah just shook his head. “Send an invitation to Eos Giulio as well. We’ll know once we see how
he behaves around Cyrus.”
“That’s not right, Dad. Eos Giulio is just a low-class person—”
He immediately shut up when he saw his father’s expression.
……
The next day, when they went back home from work, Cyrus noticed the Gardner father-and-daughter
pair beaming happily.
He asked, “Mr. Gardner, Ms. Korah, I have some business to attend to tomorrow night, and I have to go

“Sure!” Korah was in a good mood as she played with her phone and answered Cyrus.
Lufian was also in a good mood after he returned to the mansion, but when he saw Cyrus, he seemed
to have remembered something, and he frowned.
“Are there really four invitations, Grandpa?” Korah asked happily.
“Yes.” Lufian nodded.
“That’s great!” Korah cheered.
Wade smiled ear-to-ear. “We will have to properly thank Mr. Ostwald later!”
They were happy because Zedekiah’s birthday invitations came during the afternoon!
There were four of them, for all four of them!
“Alright. Let’s eat.” Lufian called Cyrus over.
After they had their meal, Cyrus played a few rounds of chess with Lufian before he went upstairs to
rest.
Nothing happened during the night, and when it was 5:50 pm the next day, Cyrus clocked off work
earlier and went to Thousand Medicine Pharmacy.
Truman was already waiting for him. They were going to attend a grand occasion today, so he was
dressed in brand new clothes.
Alda soon came out.
She was a pretty girl, and with just a bit of makeup, she appeared dazzling. She also wore a square-
collar dress that showed her curves, making her appear mature.
“You’re here, Cyrus!” Alda stared at Cyrus bashfully.
He nodded with a smile. During the few times they met, Alda always wore her nurse’s uniform. He had
never noticed that she was so curvaceous.
At that moment, a black Audi stopped outside Thousand Medicine Pharmacy.
Truman smiled. “Come, Cyrie.”
Cyrus looked toward the entrance. A middle-aged man in a black suit emerged from the black Audi.
It was Redmond Penn. Cyrus was surprised. ‘Isn’t he supposed to be someone powerful?
‘And yet, he’s picking up Mr. Cohen?’
“Mr. Penn,” Cyrus greeted him, to which Redmond responded with a nod.
He then said, “I’ve come to pick you up, Dr. Cohen.”
“Thank you for taking the time to do so.” Truman faced Cyrus and Alda with a smile. “Come, Cyrie.
We’ll sit at the back. Let Alda sit in the passenger seat.”
Alda pouted in displeasure. It made her look charming, but it also made her seem mischievous and
cute.
After approximately one and a half hours, the car drove into the parking lot of Jade Manor.
Once Redmond got out of the car, some of the guests who had just arrived were shocked.
Redmond Penn actually picked someone up? Who would receive such a great honor?!
After Cyrus got out with the other two people, everyone immediately had their questions answered. It
was Truman Cohen, Altralo’s great doctor!
Apparently, Mr. Penn came over to Fliton City because he wanted to ask Truman to save him.
As for the other two youngsters… Many of them knew that Truman had a granddaughter, so that boy
was most likely his granddaughter’s boyfriend.
Plenty of the powerful people in Fliton City saw Redmond leading Cyrus and the other two into the
manor, and they were jealous.
At that moment, a BMW 7 Series drove into the parking lot. The gorgeous woman in the passenger
seat had light makeup on her face, and she asked in puzzlement, “Are my eyes deceiving me…?”
That woman was Korah.
“What are you mumbling about under your breath, Korah?” Wade asked behind her.
“Oh. It’s nothing. I just saw someone who looks like Cyrus walking in,” Korah said.
Wade was speechless, and he said, “This is a grand occasion. No one can go in without an invitation.
You must have imagined it.”

They only received four invitation cards. Cyrus did not have one.
Korah giggled. “Yeah, I must have been imagining things.”
Lufian said nothing. But he had a stern look on his face and did not seem too pleased. In truth, he had
wanted to take Cyrus along, but they only had four invitation cards…
‘Ha…’ Lufian sighed long and hard in his heart.
Once they parked their car, the Gardner family walked into the manor.
At that moment, Redmond led Cyrus into a luxurious room.
There were two people in the room. One of them was Redmond’s father, Zedekiah Penn, though most
people simply called him Mr. Penn.
The other person appeared panicked and at a loss. He was a young man in spectacles.
“Welcome, Cyrus.” Zedekiah got up and walked over to Cyrus.
Cyrus appeared calm as he responded politely, “Mr. Penn.”
When the bespectacled man saw Cyrus, his eyes widened and he started trembling.
Redmond saw this, and it was as if a storm had started raging in his heart.
‘Is Marino Hunt’s death really related to Cyrus?’
But while Redmond was shocked, he did not show it.
Indeed, the bespectacled man was Eos Giulio!
At that moment, Eos felt his skin crawl, and his legs were weak.
‘Cyrus actually knows someone as important as Mr. Penn?! And Mr. Penn is also treating him politely!’
At that moment, there was only one thought in his mind. ‘I cannot offend Cyrus!’
Zedekiah turned his head calmly and said, “You can go back now, Eos.”
As if he had just been released from prison, Eos quickly said, “Bye, Mr. Penn!”
And immediately after, he fled the room in a panic.
They watched as the door slammed shut with a bang.
Zedekiah was the first to break the silence.
“Come and sit, Cyrus,” he said kindly with a smile. “Thank you for coming to my birthday party.
“By the way, I heard that you’re staying with the Gardner family. What relationship do you share with
them?”
