admit her wrongdoing instead of waiting to be questioned. She couldn’t let this matter

Besides, she was hiding at the time. It’s hard to say if she saw anything,” Sophia quickly

in to smooth things over,
Jasper’s lips curled faintly. “Is it common for mothers to criticize their daughters like this in
front
of others? I wouldn’t know, as I don’t have a mother.
Sophia’s face paled in an instant. He usually had the vigor of a zombie at home. But now,
when he
retorted, he was full of spirit!
