Chapter 172

While Olivia was communicating with Gordon, a group of senior professors and engineers in a large
laboratory were no longer as tense as they once were. They all relaxed.
Some people started to drink coffee. Some used WhatsApp, and some chatted.
A senior professor got a foldable bed from somewhere and covered a small blanket to sleep.
An engineer at the side could not stand it anymore. He went forward and patted him. “Well, old friend.
You’ve passed the line, haven’t you? The problem hasn’t been resolved yet.”
The senior professor waved his hand and said, “There’s no hurry. Isn’t Olivia here? Let’s wait for her to
come.”
The senior engineer said helplessly, “But you can’t just do nothing. Are you all waiting for Olivia to solve
it alone?”
The senior professor had a matter–of–fact look on his face. He even rolled his eyes at the senior
engineer. “Of course, I have to wait for Olivia. If the problem that even Olivia can’t solve, let alone me! I
can’t solve it even if I work for decades without eating, drinking, or sleeping. I might as well not waste
my time. If I have time, I might sleep for a while.”
The senior engineer choked.
The senior professor continued, “Well, I know my limits!”
The senior engineer lowered his head and pondered for a moment.
Well, it did make sense!
Hence, he nudged the senior professor and said, “Hey, move over there. I want to lie down, too.”
The senior professor was speechless. The senior engineer’s expression changed too quickly. Even a
chameleon couldn’t be faster than him.
In the middle of a group of lazy senior men and women, a thin and slender figure looked abnormally
unique, as if he was a crane among chickens.
Gary Adams sat on the big office chair and stared at the computer in front of him with unusual
seriousness.
The young man’s eyes were lowered, and his expression was focused. He

had a proud attitude of rejecting people thousands of miles away.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtGary was a computer genius. He had been a genius since he was little. He skipped a grade in
elementary school and entered the junior class of the University of Science and Technology in his
teens. After graduation, he was accepted into The Nimbus Gaze Plan.
Gary was the youngest among the group of people. He had just turned 20 years old and still had the
sharpness and unwillingness of a youth. “Gary, don’t you want to rest for a while?” A kind senior
professor felt sorry for Gary. To solve the problem, Gary had been staying up with them for half a month
without sleeping well.
The energetic young man had big dark circles under his eyes.
To have a rest? Gary frowned slightly. His expression was indifferent as he said, “I have a solution to
the problem and am currently verifying it.” “There’s no hurry. Let’s rest for a while.” The kind senior
professor did not care at all. “Olivia will be here soon. We’ll have a meeting and discuss it when she is
here.”
Gary didn’t say anything. He just lowered his eyebrows.
A trace of disgust flashed across his eyes.
After a while, Gary said, “How can you place all your hopes on one person? No matter how powerful
she is, she’s still a human but a god.” Gary’s voice was calm, but there was a hint of coldness in it.
Over the past few days, he had heard the name Olivia Taylor many times. Everyone was talking about
how outstanding, clever, and powerful she
was.
However, Gary did not think much about her.
He acknowledged Olivia’s achievements in biology and agreed that she had the ability to win a Lasker
Award.
However, biology and computers were two completely separate fields. Gary did not believe that Olivia
could combine both and reach the top level.
The kind senior professor did not understand the meaning behind Gary’s words. She was still smiling
and patting Gary’s shoulder. “Gary, Olivia is really amazing. You’ll know when you see her. You can get
her to give you some guidance then.”
Some guidance?

Gary suddenly frowned, and his tone was cold as he said, “Professor Patterson, you’re so confident in
Olivia. Have you ever thought about what if she can’t solve it?”
Berina Patterson shook her head in a daze. She really didn’t think that Olivia wouldn’t be able to solve
it.
At this moment, Professor Griffin, who was beside them, suddenly laughed out loud. “Gary’s not
convinced,” said Professor Griffin, matter–of–factly.
Having his thoughts exposed, Gary was a bit embarrassed and tilted his head.
It finally dawned on Berina that Gary was not convinced of Olivia.
She also laughed and said, “Young people should not admit defeat so easily. Gary and Olivia are both
young geniuses. When Olivia comes later, the two of you will compete.”
The other senior professors and engineers were all excited by the suggestion. They stopped drinking
coffee and sleeping. They all came up with ideas and discussed which questions to solve and how to
compete. These adorable scientists were truly selfless with a pure and broad mind. They would always
encourage and tolerate their juniors.
The laboratory door suddenly opened just as everyone was discussing fervently.
The room instantly fell silent as everyone’s gazes turned toward the door. Faced with so many gazes at
once, Gordon almost couldn’t hold it. He was stunned for a long while before he walked in with the
computer and closed the door.
“Why are you the only one here?” Professor Griffin couldn’t hold it in anymore. He stuck his head out
and wanted to look behind Gordon. “Stop looking,” said Gordon, waving his hand. “It’s just me. Olivia
isn’t here.”
“Why isn’t Olivia here?” Even Berina, who had been slow and kind, was excited. She stood up and
said, “Didn’t you tell her that we encountered a problem?”
Gordon nodded. “Yes, I did.”
“Then why isn’t Olivia here?” Berina’s heart skipped a beat. Could it be
that Gary was right? Even Olivia couldn’t solve the problem?

Behind the crowd, Gary’s expression did not change. He was neither happy nor excited. He only
pursed his lips slightly and ignored
everyone’s excitement and panic. He sat in front of the computer alone and scratched on the paper
with a pen, continuing to verify his previous train of thought.
The senior professor, who had been sleeping, came forward and asked Gordon with a frown, “Did you
not explain it to Olivia? Get Olivia to come over, and we’ll tell her in detail.”
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm“That’s right.” The senior engineer behind him was worried. “Tell Olivia not to be too stressed and
discouraged. The question is indeed quite difficult. Let’s discuss it together.”
“No, no. You’ve misunderstood.” Gordo was helpless. He walked to the nearest table and carefully
placed the computer in his hands on it. He turned it on and said, “Olivia has resolved it.”
Thud!
The pen in Gary’s hand fell onto the table.
The laboratory fell silent at once.
After a long while, Berina said hoarsely, “I’m old and deaf. I can’t hear clearly. Chief, I beg your
pardon.”
Looking at their stunned expressions, Gordon laughed in his heart. Fortunately, he wasn’t the only one
who was embarrassed.
Gordon was the one who reacted stupidly when he was in the small laboratory with Olivia just now. He
almost fell off the stool. His legs went weak for a long while, and he could not stand up. He grabbed the
corner of the table tightly to prevent himself from losing his composure.
“Solved?” Gordon looked at Olivia in a daze.
Olivia nodded and pushed the computer in her hands over. “The method is inside.”
Gordon was still in a daze. “It’s really resolved?”
Olivia glanced at him and did not say anything.
Gordon patted his face and calmed himself down. “When did you solve it?” It had only been five hours
since he contacted Olivia. There were three hours to be on her way here.
When exactly did Olivia solve it?
Olivia frowned slightly and said, “I thought about it on the way here.

The question is indeed difficult. I’ve thought about it for a long time.” Gordon was totally stunned. “Is
three hours a long time?”
Gordon began to doubt his intelligence for the first time in his life. He felt that the thing on his neck
could not be called a head but a blockhead.
