seriousness of this situation, don’t you?
“I’ve repeatedly said that friendship comes first, and competition is secondary. You shouldn’t have
risked your safety.”
Jayden appeared to be genuinely concerned about Sheila. Suddenly, Dustin spoke up. “It’s ironic that
you’re saying friendship comes first, and competition is secondary.”
“What?” Everyone turned to look at him, confused. They did not understand what Dustin meant by that.

She felt resentful. She could not let anyone know that Dustin had slapped her the day before.
Otherwise, Elena would be embarrassing herself.
