Chapter 276

Noel’s expression turned icy and she barked, ' Where did you learn how to drive?!" "I'm sorry, Miss

Sachs," the chauffeur apologized immediately. "That car up front suddenly switched lanes. I had to

stop.’’

"Eyes on the road," Noel said with a displeased scowl.

However, that was when a burly, menacing man clad fully in black and wearing shades strode over to

them. He knocked on Noel's side of the door.

Startled, her first thought was that he wanted to kidnap her.

"Drive!" she shrieked in agitation.

"But we're stuck. Miss!" the chauffeur cried helplessly. "They've cut us off from the back, too!"

Noel was certainly terrified out of her wits, but just as she took out her phone to call the cops, a call

reached her instead.

In her panic, she answered it.

"Hello, Miss Sachs. I'm Jessica Stuart," the voice on the other end said.

Noel was stunned; for a second, she wondered if she was hearing things.

"If you could please alight from the car, my bodyguards will escort you to my tea garden. I have

something I would like to discuss with you, face-to- face,’ Jessica continued calmly. "Don't worry. My

family is involved in legitimate businesses, and we pose no threat to you."

When Noel remained hesitant, so Jesscia added, ’I'm sure you're smart enough to understand the

saying, the enemy of my enemy is my friend?" With that, Jessica hung up.

As Noel had always been a schemer, she soon came to a realization.

She quickly opened the door and followed the black-clad man into another car, which took her to a tea

garden in the outskirts of North City.

The instant she entered, she felt as if she had traveled back in time. None of the marble sculptures and

decorations were from the present age.

Once she arrived, a servant led her to a tea room, where she saw Jessica taking a leisurely sip of tea.

"Miss Sachs," Jessica greeted Noel, appearing cordial.

"Miss Stuart," Noel greeted her in turn, showing her good manners.

"Please, sit." Jessica gestured at the seat opposite her.

"Thank you."

Jessica waited until a servant poured tea for Noel, and made her point immediately. "I'm sure you had a

hunch of why I asked for you here, Miss Sachs. I want you to help me with Cordy Sachs."

Noel didn't expect Jessica to be so direct, since they didn’t know each other at all and this was the first

time they had met.

Did Jessica really trust Noel that much? Was she not worried that Noel would stab her in the back once

she turned around?

"I’ve looked into you," Jessica said, placing a document folder in front of her. "You might even say I

know you very well now. As such, a person as smart as you would understand what works in your

favor. I'm very much convinced that a partnership between us will be perfect.’

"Why should I help you?" Noel asked nonetheless.

She certainly couldn't agree to it immediately, even if it was with someone who could work with her to

trample Cordy beneath their feet and make sure she never got back up.

Even so, Jessica simply took a sip of her tea and said nonchalantly, "I won't elaborate on how jealous

you are of Cordy Sachs and everything she has going for her. It doesn't mean anything. What matters

to me is that our goals are aligned. If you do help me, once the deed is done, I shall give you Sachs

Enterprises.’

Noel's eyes immediately sparkled with delight.
