Chapter 242
Noel had also mentioned that John had abandoned Cordy, so she would be emotionally vulnerable
right now. If Kyle took the initiative, it was possible that Cordy would let go of their past prejudices. Noel
also said to ignore her feelings, as it was more important to get Jessop Corp to pass these difficult
times first and foremost.
Noel truly believed that their relationship was rock solid and stable.
Her determination moved Kyle deeply, and he was glad he had such a loving woman by his side.
"It isn't that easy to handle Cordy," Kyle replied, then proceeded to tell Noel exactly what had
happened.
Noel sneered after hearing the whole story. She knew Cordy all too well. Even if Kyle knelt on the
ground or died before her, Cordy would remain unmoved.

"It should just be a matter of time. You hurt my sister so much before this, so it's only natural that she
had her guard up," Noel assured him.
"But I can't wait that long. I heard Cordy's supposed to start her bids this week, and Jessop Corp can
only hold on for a short time. The stock market's falling much too fast. If we don't raise money quickly,
we'll have to declare bankruptcy soon," Kyle said.
"Then what do we do?" Noel said anxiously, tears filling her eyes. "Isn't there some way we can force
her to work with Jessop Corp?"
"I don't have any power to threaten her right now..." Kyle trailed off suddenly, pausing for a moment.
A way to force Cordy to work with Jessop Corp?
Kyle jerked up, a malicious glint flashing across his eyes.
"Noel, do you trust in our relationship?"
"Of course I do. If I didn't, I wouldn't have asked you to go after my sister even though I know there's
something between you two. I just want things to be okay for you and Jessop Corp. For that to happen,
I can accept anything right now," Noel replied firmly.
"That's all I need to hear from you," Kyle replied. "I'm also going to promise you now that no matter
what happens, the only one I'll ever want as my wife will be you."
"Yeah, I got it. I'll always be waiting for you," Noel said obediently.
The two exchanged a few more corny promises before finally hanging up.
After hanging up, Noel’s smile turned sinister. If Kyle wasn't an idiot, he would know what he needed to
do to Cordy. As long as he made a move, Noel would have the opportunity to stab Kyle in the back. Not
only would she be able to cut off ties with Kyle and play the victim, but she would also be able to
discredit both Kyle and Cordy.
It was killing two birds with one stone!

It was night. John and Cordy were at the entrance of the hospital, and John took the car keys from
Cordy. Looking at the low-key Lexus before him, he asked, "Your car?"
"Yeah," Cordy replied.
John opened the driver's door and got it. Cordy pursed her lips, but obediently got into the passenger
side.
It was a quiet ride to Cordy's residence at three-ten in the morning.
At half past eight the following morning, there was a bidding meeting she needed to attend to discuss
matters with the senior management. Once she reached home, showered, and got into bed, it would
already be at least four in the morning. She needed to be up by half past seven to attend the meeting
on time, which meant she would only get three and a half hours of sleep.
Cordy glanced out the car window at the night view, then said calmly," John, if you have something to
say, now would be a good time."
She didn't want to delay her already scarce sleeping time.
