Since Robert's death, who in Simeria could truly stay out of its affairs?
Although the Jarvis family had been relatively quiet lately, Natalie realized how terrifying the lurking
dangers truly were after encountering Austin.
When Natalie entered the study, Stephen looked visibly relieved at her return.
"You should stay quiet at home for the next few days and avoid going to the studio," he said.
"Okay." Natalie obediently nodded.
Clearly, Stephen had the final say in everything right now.
She handed the file to Stephen.
Stephen frowned. "Is this from Lord Austin?"
Natalie fell silent.
It looked like Stephen was already aware of this!
Natalie recalled Heather mentioned that Stephen had taken a call before this. It must have been Austin,
right?
Natalie nodded in response to Stephen's question.
Stephen's eyes flashed with silent sharpness as he opened the file and skimmed through its contents.
Though the file wasn't thick, Stephen's face darkened as he went through the pages.
When he reached the final page...
Slam!
Stephen slammed the file onto the desk, and the air around him was so intense that Natalie could
clearly feel it. Regardless of what had happened before, Stephen had always suppressed his emotions
around Heather and Natalie.
But now...!
On her way home, Natalie hadn't opened the file to see its contents because she still recalled how
terrifying Austin had been. Now, witnessing Stephen's reaction, she knew it couldn't be anything good.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtShe moved to pick up the file to see for herself, but the next moment, Stephen's hand landed on it.
"Don't read it," he said.
Dad." Natalie's tone was tight.
She regretted not reading it on the way back. Now, more than ever, she wanted to know what was
inside.
Austin had made everyone perceive him as a fool for years. This showed that he shouldn't be
underestimated. Each member of the Entes family was formidable.
"You should leave for now," Stephen said, his eyes filled with worry.
Natalie glanced at Stephen, her eyes filled with concern. But ultimately, she nodded. "Okay."
However, as she turned to leave, Stephen stopped her. "What did he say to you?"
He was referring to Austin!
When she heard that question, Natalie couldn't help but feel that Austin was incredibly rude. She had
never encountered a person like him before.
Natalie turned back, her brow furrowing slightly as she said to Stephen, "He asked me to divorce
Irwin..."
Before she could finish, Stephen's already grim expression grew even darker. His eyes shimmered with
an endless chill.
"Dad!" Natalie exclaimed.
"You should leave," Stephen said.
Natalie wanted to say more, but seeing the oppressive aura emanating from Stephen, she nodded.
What was happening now?
Previously, even if the Entes family wanted to form an alliance with the Jarvis family, they would have
taken a softer approach! Even Malcolm, under similar circumstances, didn't act like this.
And now Austin, the rumored fool, had...!
What had he done?
Had he openly coerced the Jarvis family?
Thinking of that man's sinister gaze, Natalie's heart tightened.
Things had changed!
Simeria was truly undergoing a transformation. Could the Jarvis family really stay out of it this time?
Clearly, no matter what had happened before, it seemed unlikely now.
As she exited the study, she saw Clyde coming up the stairs. He exuded a cold aura, indicating that
something had happened outside.
When Clyde noticed Natalie, his demeanor softened. However, she could still sense something was off.
Clyde checked the time and asked, "When did you come back?"
"Not too long ago," Natalie replied.
"Did you see that person?"
"Who?" After asking this, Natalie realized who Clyde was referring to, especially seeing his somber
expression.
She knew he was talking about Austin.
Having seen Austin in Orchid Bay, she knew he wasn't the fool he had pretended to be all these years.
Natalie realized that the situation in Simeria was changing. Seeing Clyde return now, she guessed he
had received a call from Stephen.
Natalie nodded. "Yes."
"It wasn't like I wanted to go..."
And before going, she had already realized that there was a possibility it might be Austin who was
waiting for her. But given his cunning, the fact that he had chosen to meet her today in such a forceful
manner was a sign of impending changes in Simeria's dynamics.
So whether she went or not, the current situation wouldn't change.
"You should accompany Luna," Clyde said as he walked past her. But just as they passed each other,
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmNatalie grabbed Clyde's wrist.
He stopped and glanced sideways. "What is it?"
"Do you think we... can withdraw from Simeria?
She was talking about the Jarvis family and the entire Regal Horizons International.
As she spoke, the atmosphere in the corridor became tense.
Undoubtedly, after meeting Austin today and sensing some necessary connections between the Entes
family and the Jarvis family, Natalie knew that until the Entes family's situation settled completely, the
Jarvis family probably couldn't stay out of it completely.
So, she thought of... leaving!
Simeria was too chaotic!
No one knew what would happen next, and she wanted to ensure the safety of everyone in the Jarvis
family. She wanted to keep them out of this chaotic situation.
Clyde frowned. "Do you think it's possible?"
Possible? What kind of entity was Regal Horizons International? And what kind of existence was the
Jarvis family in Simeria?
She thought she could run away when things went wrong?!
How naive!
"I..." Natalie began.
"Enough, this isn't something you should worry about," Clyde reassured her, gently patting her head.
That warm palm and comforting touch warmed Natalie's heart.
At this moment, Natalie's restless heart seemed to find solace.
Perhaps because she had experienced too many things in her life, her first thought now was absolute
withdrawal when such things happened.
Clyde's answer made her understand that the Jarvis family... was different from her as an individual.
As she looked back and saw Clyde's chilling figure, bitterness spread in Natalie's heart
