Chapter 1020 Just Answer The Question
Jenny could tell that he was still angry. She was exasperated. "Not him.
Your injuries."
Evan said nothing. She continued, "I know you don't like Alec, but Dr. Gaarder is truly a
specialist in his field. He's seriously amazing. I hope you'll let him examine you. Maybe
there's a chance for you to recover after all."
"Is Alec that nice? Jenny, you know of the animosity between us. I don't trust him," Evan
said.
"He just wants you to recover quickly." Jenny knew Alec's character very well. He wanted
Evan to get better quickly so she would not have to stay by his side forever. She believed
that Alec was not harboring any ill intentions. However, talking sense into Evan would
prove to be a challenge.

"Evan..." Jenny was at a loss for what to say.
"Just answer the question," Evan interrupted.
Jenny shook her head. "Of course not. But I hope you'll receive some treatment and
recover quickly."
"Alright. I'll get someone to investigate Dr. Gaarder. If Alec hasn't bribed him, I'll consider
your suggestion." Evan no longer said anything about refusing. He just wanted to delay
the treatment.
Perhaps it was time for him to make some other preparations.
Now that he wasn't so adamant about refusing treatment, Jenny sighed in relief. "Alright.
You can get someone to investigate him. I believe that someone like Dr. Gaarder wouldn't
be bribed by anyone."
Was that so?
That wasn't good news to Evan.
On Monday, Jenny went to work at the hospital as usual. Her life looked to be normal, but
something had already happened to make a huge change in it.
She saw Derrick and McKenna in the canteen. When she remembered what the director
had said to her, she looked at them and said, "Thanks for before."
Although McKenna was making a mountain out of a molehill, Jenny didn't mind. It was
these two who insisted on checking the surveillance footage and discovered that she had
been kidnapped. They saved her.
They looked awkward when they heard her thanking them. "It's no problem. We're
colleagues. That's how it should be.’
McKenna was the one who said that. She was still a little embarrassed.
"It's not just that. You guys could have ignored it but still chose to check it out. Thank
you," Jenny said.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmMcKenna was blushing. She remembered slandering Jenny.
After that, Jenny took her food and left. She wasn't planning to keep interacting with them
in case any misunderstandings surfaced.
However, McKenna did not share the same sentiment. She got her food and brought
Derrick to Jenny. ’Are you alright? The kidnappers didn't do anything to you, did they?"
She was curious to know what those kidnappers were like.
Jenny looked at her suspiciously. She saw through McKenna's nosiness and smiled, saying,
'Tm fine. You guys discovered me in time, so I was rescued."
McKenna was surprised. "Is that so? I feel like we hadn't done much."
"There's no need to doubt yourself. You guys really saved me." Jenny smiled at her from
the bottom of her heart.
She didn't say much to Derrick. She knew that McKenna had a jealous streak.
