An intense pain spread through Lin Xun, filling his vision with stars.

This time, his injury was truly alarming. The destructive power of a True Saint’s counter-attack was anything but ordinary.

“Damn that old scum!” Lin Xun gritted his teeth in seething hatred.

At the stime, his heart was still palpitating as the fear he experienced earlier still lingered on. The Dark Blood Magi Saint, despite having been heavily injured by Zhao Xingye earlier on, had still been able to erupt with such might while fighting for his life. The power of a True Saint was indeed more than terrifying.

Only now did Lin Xun deeply understand the meaning of the phrase ‘All are but ants under Saints.’

Such was the Saint stage.

Strictly speaking, the True Saint stage possessed a power that made it nearly impossible for anyone under this stage to kill them!

After a long time, Lin Xun finally crawled up from the ground with great difficulty. However, he instantly fell back down under an invisible restrictive power.

“What is this? Why is this huge abyss filled with such a bizarre power?” Lin Xun’s heart lurched. He swept his gaze around.

Unfortunately, the surroundings were covered in thick gray mist. He could only vaguely make out that he was in a quagmire.

The strange thing was that the mud was scarlet, as if dyed with blood, and it had a foul smell that gave people the urge to vomit.

Decayed and broken bones floated on the mire like withered lotus leaves growing in blood-colored mud. The picture was hair-raising.

Lin Xun frowned. An unsettling feeling instantly arose in his heart and caused his hair to stand up, as if skind of terrifying existence was hibernating within the mist of this abyss.

Lin Xun didn’t dare to question this premonition. He ordered, “Little Silver, helpstand guard.”

Little Silver appeared with a whoosh and scanned the surroundings with a grave expression. He could also sense that this place was extremely bizarre. It gave him an oppressive feeling that made even his flesh throb.

The air around Lin Xun rustled as he operated the power of the Immortality Grand Dao. At the stime, he swallowed a healing-type divine herb and began recuperating with all his might.

Before long, a sound like that of bones breaking suddenly rang out from the gray mist. In the silent atmosphere, it was particularly ear-piercing.

Little Silver tensed up. He drew his sword and stood ready.

Lin Xun was inwardly anxious. If he was required to fight at the moment, then he could only exert at most thirty percent of his combat power. That wasn’t the only problem. In addition, fighting now would very likely damage the foundation of his cultivation since he hadn’t recovered from his severe injuries.

Despite this, his expression remained calm.

He remembered the token Lone Man had given him as well as the one chance to ask the mysterious woman for help. If he was really pushed to the brink, Lin Xun certainly would not hold back from using these ace cards.

From the churning gray mist, a skeletal creature shaped like a fox emerged. Its bones were all chipped and dull without a single bit of flesh or skin. However, its appearance cwith the spreading of a horrifying aura.

Its empty eye sockets that were burning with blood-colored flames were especially eerie. As it stared at Lin Xun and Little Silver, both of them stiffened and felt suffocated.

Little Silver and Lin Xun looked at each other in horror. This tattered skeletal creature was definitely a fox who had possessed a very high cultivation when it had been alive.

The skeletal fox didn’t even make a move, but a ferocious and bloody force abruptly surged out and spread all over like a tsunami toward Lin Xun and Little Silver.

Meanwhile, the two were unable to act as if they were confined. Not to mention resisting, they didn’t even have the strength to struggle as the gap in power was too great. They were like hopeless ants facing the attack of a dragon!

Right at this moment, a ray of dim light emerged from Lin Xun and gently swept around. It also completely swept away the ferocious and bloody force. And then, a dim yellow oil lamp appeared above his head. As it swayed, it shed a mottled glow that gave off a reassuring and peaceful feeling.

The Blameless Lamp!

Lin Xun had obtained this divine treasure from the skeletal boatman at the Underworld River Forbidden Zone in the SuprRealm. It was also this lamp that had protected him when he had been trapped at the bottom of the Underworld River.

According to the boatman, seeking the dao was akin to sailing through a sea of bitterness; how would one know where the path was without a light to guide them?

The higher the cultivation stage, the more difficult the path. No one who sought progress in the dao could guarantee that they would never get lost!

The nBlameless implied that there was no fault, so one needed not to worry about making mistakes.

The boatman had told him that the unknown path could be lit by a single lamp, and that if he encountered an unsolvable predicament before becoming a Saint expert, he might obtain a chance to resolve it by dripping drop of his heart-blood into the lamp! Lin Xun had carved that memory into his mind.

However, he just had not expected that the Blameless Lamp would appear at this critical juncture and resolve a fatal calamity for him!

As the dim lamp swayed, it shrouded him in an illusory halo.

What shocked Lin Xun the most was that when the skeletal fox saw the Blameless Lamp, it looked confused. Then it becexcited to the point that all of its bones were clattering.

It seemed to want to get closer, but did not dare to and stood there hesitantly. But Lin Xun could clearly feel the hope emitting from the fox as the ferocity in its aura dissolved without a trace and was replaced by tranquility.

In the end, it even sat down on the ground and quietly looked at the lamp.

The odd scene stunned Lin Xun and Little Silver. After a while, they heaved a sigh of relief, realizing the skeletal fox wouldn’t becviolent again in the presence of the Blameless Lamp.

A series of heavy footsteps suddenly thundered out from the gray mist, and then, a huge figure appeared.

It was a skeletal giant. He was clad in tattered, blood-stained ancient armor and carried a huge, blood-red broken sword on his back.

His bones were a dark gold color and imprinted with marks of the great dao. Since the bones were all chipped and worn, the dao marks were broken and incomplete.

The aura of this armored skeletal giant was stronger than that of the fox by a large margin! Lin Xun and Little Silver stiffened as they ‘welcomed’ another terrifying fellow!

“Grrawll!”

The skeletal fox let out a roar. When it saw the skeletal giant, its gentle aura instantly becferocious again, as if it sensed a danger that made it hypervigilant.

The giant, however, didn’t pay attention to the fox. His empty eye sockets burned with the sblood-red flames like a pair of torches.

Upon seeing the Blameless Lamp and its dim halo, the giant was suddenly motionless, seemingly frozen, and the terrifying aura around him retracted.

He sat cross-legged on the ground without hesitation. The broken sword was moved to lay across his knees. He sat with his back straight like a peerless swordmaster.

Seeing this, the fox gradually quieted down and returned to squatting on the ground while staring at the lamp with bizarrely gentle eyes.

This drove Lin Xun and Little Silver to the conclusion that as long as the Blameless Lamp was present, nothing bad would probably happen even if more terrifying creatures appeared.

“Master, what should we do?” asked Little Silver through voice transmission.

“Nothing for now. Wait forto recover first, then we act according to the situation,” instructed Lin Xun.

He then took a deep breath and stopped paying attention to the skeletal beings so he could seize tto recuperate.

Surprisingly, the fox and the giant did nothing, acting as if Lin Xun and Little Silver were invisible.

At this point, Lin Xun was completely reassured.

Unbeknown to him, from the moment the Blameless Lamp appeared at the bottom of the abyss, numerous horrific monsters that had been hibernating for ages in the gray mist had begun to wake up.

Subsequently, they all traveled in the direction of the lamp.

A huge skeletal bird bolted through the sky and arrived, its ferocious aura stirring the gray mist in the whole area. Upon closer inspection, one would see that the shape of this bird resembled the legendary celestial phoenix’s!

Its bones were like crystalline gold, but its wings looked battered, and its skeleton was incomplete and filled with the aura of death.

Immediately following, a skeleton shaped like a soft-shelled turtle appeared. It was like a bone mountain that was missing one leg out of four. Every step it took produced an earthquake like a continent shifting horizontally.

An enormous, withered tree with damaged branches emerged. It was ten thousand feet tall and had strands of lightning streaming along the trunk, emitting a terrifyingly destructive aura.

Each of these creatures arrived with a ferocious aura, but just like the fox and the giant, their ferocity vanished when they saw the Blameless Lamp. Then, they all settled down on the spot and stared fixedly at the lamp in silence.

As if that lamp was their only hope!

Little Silver watched all of this with his heart tense to the extrdespite knowing that there wouldn’t be any danger with the Blameless Lamp in place.

He was well aware that any of these ferocious beings could easily wipe him and Lin Xun out at will!

He was also curious about what had happened to them. They didn’t look like they had completely fallen, but they didn’t look alive either with their frightening appearances and monstrous auras.

Ttrickled by.

Lin Xun also noticed what was going on, but his heart had gradually calmed down.

He knew that with the Blameless Lamp, there was bound to be a chance to get out of this predicament. It was imperative he recovered from his injuries as quickly as possible.

Two days later.

Lin Xun was jolted out of his meditation by a low, majestic, intermittent voice.

“Return home…return home…”

He opened his eyes and saw a strange-looking, ferocious creature standing not far away.
