The Founder of Qi Cultivation, Reincarnates?
Chapter 171 169- Escaping The Huang ClanLate into the night, the rain was going strong as Xi Shen stepped out to stand at the Pavilion’s entrance.
However, his legs wobble uncontrollably and he had to lean against the door to stabilize himself.
His face looked exhausted and his lips trembled a bit. He had talked so much he could have sworn he had sprained his tongue.
A severe migraine also wracked his skull because of all the thinking he had to do to come up with that nonsense.
Turning to look inside the Pavilion, he saw that Bai Xiaofung and Zen had their eyes close while sitting around the table.
Xi Shen cursed them in his heart for making him go through this, and he cursed himself as well for allowing himself to be swayed by Zen’s sincerity.
Sighing to himself, Xi Shen said, “What the hell? Did all that nonsense actually do something for them?”
Xi Shen looked at the two once again, before he shook his head and turn away.
His throat was parched so he took out a wine gourd and popped the cork.
Xi Shen enjoyed his wine as he absentmindedly watched the rain fall on the roofs of the buildings.
He would pause for a few seconds before taking a drink from the gourd.
However, he had to pause his hand sometime later and his gaze focused on something in the distance.
Xi Shen's senses were almost as sharp as a Nascent Soul Realm cultivator due to his Heavenly Law comprehension. Even from this distance and through the rain he could still see a black silhouette leaping over the buildings.
“This aura, it’s…”
Xi Shen’s eyes followed this silhouette and saw them skillfully leaping over the buildings before entering a courtyard nearby.

Xi Shen mumbled under his breath sarcastically.
He then thought for a moment whether to see what was that about, he can’t deny he had become slightly interested.
In the courtyard, the figure in all black landed outside of a pavilion.
His cultivation was completely suppressed, he was careful not to alert anyone.
He didn’t choose to enter through the pavilion’s door, instead, he used his physical strength to leap onto the eaves of the pavilion to enter the top floor.
He left a trail of water, as he quickly and soundlessly slid open the sliding door before entering inside.
The room was extremely pitch black, but a glint of silver flashed in this dark room and come to a stop at the figure's neck
The figure remained still, as the cold voice of the woman echoed out in the dark, “Who are you?”
“Mei’er it’s me.”
The figure in black replied in a soft voice.
In the dark, the woman's body shook, and a candlelight on the table suddenly lit up the dark room somewhat.
The face of a beautiful woman was seen and her expression was full of emotion as she looked at the masked covered figure, and said, “Mingzhe? Is-is that you?”
Her voice trembled uncontrollably.
The figure in black reached up and took off his mask. The smiling face of Mingzhe was revealed to the woman.
The sound of the knife that was in her hand dropping to the ground echoed out before she covered her mouth while tears came streaming down her cheeks.
Mingzhe lifted his hand and wiped away her tears and said softly, “I’m sorry it took so long, I…”
Huang Mei didn’t give him time to say anymore before she grabbed his collar and pulled him into a hot and passionate kiss.
After several seconds, they pulled away.
Huang Mei smiled and said, “As long as you're here now, nothing else matters.”
Huang Mei then looked down at her pregnant stomach that was being hidden in her baggy robes and while gently rubbing it she said with a warm smile, “See, your father came for us just like said he would.”
Mingzhe knelt down and kiss her stomach lightly before saying, “I’d never leave you. The both of you.”
Mingzhe said before he looked up at a teary-eyed Huang Mei.
After Mingzhe stood up and his expression was serious as he said, “We have to leave now. Tonight is the yearly City Lord meeting. All the clans' upper echelon have gone to the City Lord’s Mansion for the meeting, including mine and your clans' elders.”
“Where are we going? I thought you said raising a child as rogue cultivators would be dangerous, so you would become the Clan Leader and end the feud with my Clan.”
Mingzhe saw Huang Mei’s worried expression, but he cupped her face in his hands her before saying, “We’ll be fine, I made some connections with the Mercenary Association. I’ll become a mercenary to provide for us while you take care of the baby.”
Huang Mei still had on a worried expression but she nodded firmly. She was very trusting of Mingzhe.
One thing that no one knew was how talented he actually was, he had been secretly hiding it ever since he was younger.
Her cultivation was at the early Core Formation Realm, and he was in the Late Stage of the Foundation Realm, but even she was inferior to him.
Mingzhe grabbed her hand and was about to move out the Pavilion door but Huang Mei suddenly tug him back and said, “Wait! I need to meet my little brother, I have to tell him I’m leaving.”
Mingzhe hearing this had his expression turn soft, and he said, “Mei’er we can’t meet little Zen, we have to leave without coming into contact with anyone.”
Huang Mei bit her lip and lowered her head before saying in a begging tone, “Please, Mingzhe, I want to meet him before I go. He was the only one who found out about my pregnancy.”

It seemed as if what Huang Mei just said caused his heart to immediately stop beating.
“What is it? What’s wrong?” Huang Mei asked worriedly, she never saw him like this before.
“We have to go, NOW!!”
Mingzhe swiftly turned and rushed out of the Pavilion. He quickly picked up Huang Mei bridle-style and leaped off the edge of the Pavilion's top floor into the air. He no longer hide his cultivation and he went all out flying through the rain.
Seeing his hurried and frantic expression, Huang Mei’s heart started to beat fast and she asked once again, "Mingzhe what is it? Why are you panicking?"
In the heavy rain, Mingzhe's even heavier and solemn voice echoed out, “I did everything to make sure our relationship was kept a secret. The measures I’ve carried out, the lengths I went to, they were by no means small. But somehow it was still discovered, and we don’t even know how. Because of that, I became extremely cautious of revealing my true feelings to anyone from either your family or mine.”
*Swoosh* *Swoosh*
Mingzhe flew through the air quickly, the sound of the rain hiding the sonic booms his flight created.
“When you came to my clan you told me about the pregnancy, I was overjoyed but at the same time, I was mortified. I concocted a plan on the spot and I pretended not to know you. I then told you to isolate yourself within your clan and make it look like your heart was broken. I didn’t want anyone from your clan to discover your pregnancy, especially little Zen. If that happened a war between our families is a likely scenario.”
“Why Zen?” Huang Mei asked.
“Little Zen, there is a possibility that your grandfather had secretly left a Divine Imprint on him to protect him. He’s the future Patriarch of the Huang Clan, I wouldn’t be surprised if he did.”
Hearing that, Huang Mei's expression mirrored Mingzhe and she regretted her carelessness immediately. She never thought about that possibility since creating a Divine Imprint wasn’t easy for Nascent Soul Realm experts.
Seeing Huang Mei’s expression, Mingzhe said comfortingly, “It’s okay, it’s fine. It might be like the one grandfather placed on me where it only activates if I’m in danger. We just need to leave, and after…”
Mingzhe suddenly stop talking and his body came grinding to a halt in the air.
Huang Mei seeing this asked, “What happened? Why did you stop?”
Mingzhe didn’t answer her, and when she looked up she saw that he was staring ahead with a serious expression.
Huang Mei quickly turned to follow his gaze.
What she saw was the figure of an old man floating several dozen meters away. His expression was calm but his eyes were filled with absolute rage as he stared at Mingzhe.
Huang Mei’s blood ran cold when she saw this old man, and she stuttered out, “G-Grandfather?”
