Chapter 132
Qemal looked beyond proud to own such an exclusive invitation. He shoved away the soldier who stood in front of him and shot him a murderous glare. "Take a good look at this. This is a special 'VIP' invitation, reserved only for the most powerful! How dare you stand in my way? You'd better be on your best behavior, or else!"
The soldiers all balked and allowed Qemal to pass when they saw his special "VIP" invitation.
However, Liam suddenly froze in his steps and turned to stare at the arrogant Stones who followed in his wake. "Didn't they say the invitations are fake? Didn't they accuseof producing fake invitations in an attempt to sneak into the event? Well, since it's my doing, these invitations have nothing to do with you, right? Sergeant, confiscate their invitations! Without invitations, they won't be able to get inside!"

"Dad, what shameless people they are! I'm so embarrassed," Jovie said, glancing at the Stones who got stopped at the door.
The soldiers all stopped the Stones before they could enter, leaving them staring in shock at Liam, Celena, and Jovie's retreating figures.
The sergeant barked, "Men, take their invitations away and kick them out of here!"
The soldiers snatched the Stones' invitations away, and the moment they did so, Sherah shrieked, "How dare you do this to us! Take a good look at this! This is the special 'VIP' invitation issued by the mayor himself! By taking these away from us, you're disobeying the mayor's orders!"
With that, Sherah pried herself free of the soldier who was holding her back, adjusted her hair, and then sauntered into the hall tall and proud!
The rest of the Stones followed her.
The sergeant and his soldiers did not know what to do, but since Sherah and the rest of the Stones indeed possessed the special "VIP" invitations, they did not dare to kick them out, for fear of disobeying the mayor's commands.

The event finally started after everyone was seated. By this time, everyone forgot all about the fiasco that happened outside and instead began to enjoy their food.
All of a sudden, Malcolm stepped onto the stage in a black tuxedo. Someone in the audience caught sight of him and shouted, "Look, it's Mr. Lynch!"
Someone else piped up, "What a handsman! Only a military veteran could look so smart and handsome!"
"Of course! Mr. Lynch is already a general despite being in his early thirties. Not only is he in charge of guarding our city, but he's even taken up a second job as our mayor! No one else has accomplished such an incredible feat in the history of Drunham City!"
"Mr. Lynch is going to accomplish great things!"
The guests all raised their glasses in a toast to Malcolm, and Malcolm gave them a wave and nod of acknowledgment. Finally, he straightened up and gazed out at the audience. "Ladies and gentlemen, I am honored to have you all attend this exclusive event! From today onwards, Max Group will work hand in hand with all of you to provide a better future for this city! Thank you all for being here today, and I would like to propose a toast to all my future business partners. May our future be filled with prosperity and success! Cheers!"
