Chapter 773 That evening, when Lily came out of her office after packing her things, she saw Alexander's car outside.
"Didn't | tell you that you didn’t have to pick me up?" She sighed in defeat.
Lily had driven here, but since he was here to pick her up, her car had to stay in the parking lot again.
"lI wasn’t busy today," he replied while leaning against the car door.
The setting sun shone on him, tracing his silhouette with a golden lining, and he looked like he was glowing.

"Edward's not here again?" Lily noticed that she had been seeing Edward less recently and that Alexander had been driving more often.
"Isn’t it better to spend our time privately?" He said while fastening his seat belt, "Besides, we should also give him some time to spend with Olivia, no?" Lily could not help but smile as she thought of Edward and Olivia.
"Right, | would never have thought those two would end up together. They’re so different.Edward’s such a proper person, and Olivia's so talkative." Just the thought of them together was interesting.
"How about us then?" He glanced at her, smiling.
Alexander did not wait for her answer and concentrated on driving.
The ride was smooth, and since Lily had been working the whole day, she fell asleep unknowingly while leaning against the window.
In the midst of her dozing off, she heard him ask, "I heard that Noah was here today." "Hmm?" She jolted awake and regained her composure.
"He came and left a while ago." "He gave you trouble?" Alexander asked with his eyes still fixed on the road.
"Well, not exactly," Lily said, shaking her head.
Honestly, what Noah did was nothing aside from trying to intimidate her.
Moreover, she could tell that the incident with the license was just an excuse for the Perfumers’ Society to give her a warning.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmSince she was a mere perfumer, she dared to reject their invitation and even go against the Perfumers’ Society. She was sure that this was something they could not tolerate.
"Although the Richards family is powerful in Kingsland, their influences have no use here in Brown City.If you don’t want that license, just don’t sit for the examination. Those old fools in the society were too content with their positions and had nothing better to do.They just made up those worthless licenses to make themselves relevant.Do you think people care?" Alexander snapped impatiently.
"Hahaha!" Lily started laughing out loud.
"Why are you laughing?" He turned to look at her and asked, "Am | not right?" "It's not that. It’s just that | never expected you to say something so unpolished." She paused and continued, "When Noah came, Lisa was there too.She also said the same thing." Lily did not expect them to be so alike in some ways.
"Really?" Alexander smiled at her and said, "Looks like she has quite a way with words too." Since they were talking about Lisa, it reminded him of something else, "Didn't you also say that she had requested you to custom make a perfume for her? Did you agree to it?" "1 did!" She nodded, saying, "I'll have to settle some other things before | start on her request." "What is it?" he asked.
"Just some petty issues," she replied.
Alexander did not drive them back to Imperial Hills.
Instead, they were at one of Brown City’s largest shopping malls.
Lily did not notice this as she was about to doze off, and then when she was jolted awake, her attention was focused on the conversation with Alexander.
"Do you have another event to attend?" Lily asked.
