Chapter 103 Richard pov.

The sun was just beginning to rise, casting soft, golden light over the waves outside our window.

I looked over at Sarah, still peacefully asleep beside me, her hair falling over her face in a way that made her look younger, and more carefree.

For the first tin a long time, I felt that slightness. I wanted today to be something special-a day that would remind us both why we were here, together. I reached over, gently nudging her shoulder. "Hey, sleepyhead. Tto get up." She groaned, burying her face into the pillow. "It's too early, Richard," she mumbled, her voice thick with sleep. "Con, I've got a whole day planned for us. You don't want to miss this," I said, trying to keep the excitement out of my voice, but failing.

Finally, she cracked one eye open, givinga look. "What exactly did you sign us up for?" "You'll see," I said, handing her a cup of coffee I'd prepared just the way she liked it-strong and a little sweet. "Trust me, you're going to love it." She took a sip, her face relaxing a bit as the caffeine hit. "Alright, Mr. Mysterious. Lead the way." After breakfast, we headed to the beach where I'd arranged for us to go snorkeling. The water was crystal clear, with a blue that seemed to stretch forever. Sarah looked around, a mix of excitement and maybe a little apprehension in her eyes.

"Snorkeling?" she asked, glancing over atwith a raised eyebrow. "You know I'm not exactly a natural-born swimmer, right?" "That's why I'm here," I said with a grin, giving her hand a reassuring squeeze. "Besides, you'll be fine. I promise." She rolled her eyes but slipped on the snorkel mask, adjusting it with a bit of a frown. "If I end up choking on saltwater, you're in trouble." Laughing, I led the way into the waves. Once we were under, it was like a whole other world opened up-vibrant fish darting around us, coral swaying gently with the current. Sarah reached for my hand underwater, and I could see her eyes wide with wonder, like she'd never seen anything like this before.

When we finally surfaced, she looked at me, her face lit up. "Richard, this is amazing. I didn't think I'd love it this much." "See? Told you," I said, feeling a burst of pride.

"Alright, I'll give you this one," she replied with a laugh, splashing a little water my way.

After a while, we moved on to the next activity-parasailing. Sarah seemed a little less sure about this one, eyeing the harness and parachute with a mixture of curiosity and fear. "So, we're really doing this?" she asked, chewing her lip as she glanced from the setup to me.

"Absolutely," I replied, trying to hide my own nerves. "Trust me, it'll be incredible." Once we were strapped in, the boat pulled us into the air, and suddenly we were soaring high above the ocean. The beach was tiny below us, and the world stretched out in every direction, breathtaking and vast.

"This is insane!" Sarah shouted over the wind, clutching my hand.

I laughed, feeling her grip tighten. "Just enjoy the view! How often do you get to see this?" She looked around, her eyes wide, and after a moment, her face relaxed into a smile. She was silent for a while, just taking it all in, and I felt a deep satisfaction watching her experience it. It was worth every moment of planning to see that look on her face.

When we finally cback down to earth, Sarah was laughing, her face flushed from the excitement. "I can't believe we just did that. You're crazy, Richard," she said, shaking her head but smiling. "Hey, you're the one who went along with it," I teased, nudging her playfully. "And you loved it." "Okay, maybe a little," she admitted, leaning intoas we walked along the beach. "But you're still crazy." After a quick break, we decided to try paddleboarding, though I had to admit to myself that I was way less confident about this one. Still, how hard could it be? We wobbled onto our boards, trying to find our balance. Sarah seemed to catch on quickly, standing up with only a slight tremble, while I, on the other hand, was struggling to stay upright. "Need shelp?" she called out, barely hiding a smirk.

"Oh, I'm fine," I replied, though the board was shaking beneath me. "Totally got this." But the next second, I was in the water, gasping as the cold hit me. Sarah burst out laughing, her voice ringing over the waves. "So much for 'totally got this,' huh?" I couldn't help but laugh, too, even as I climbed back on the board, drenched. "Alright, alright, you win this one." With her steadying me, I finally managed to stand up, and we paddled out a little, sharing more laughs and splashes until our arms were sore.

By early afternoon, we were both famished, so we headed over to a little beachside restaurant.

The scent of grilling fish and spices filled the air, and we found a table with a perfect view of the ocean.

I ordered a bunch of local dishes, eager for us to try everything. When the plates arrived, Sarah's eyes went wide, and I couldn't help but grin. "Think you can handle it?" I teased.

She smirked, picking up a piece of grilled fish. "Bring it on, Richard."

We shared bites, trading impressions of the different flavors, laughingm when one dish was unexpectedly spicy or when we couldn't quite figure out what we were eating. It was like every bite held a little adventure of its own, and I found myself relaxing into the moment, content just to be here with her.

At one point, she caughtstaring and gavea playful look. "What?" "Nothing," I said, shrugging. "Just... I'm really glad we did this." She softened, reaching across the table to take my hand. too, Richard. It's nice to feel like... like we're just us again."

For a moment, we didn't say anything, just held each other's gaze.

There was a warmth there, i something unspoken but real, and I pokon but real felt a sense of peace settle over me. That evening, as the sun began to dip below the horizon, we took a walk along the shore. The sky was streaked with pink and orange, casting a gentle glow over everything. "Today was amazing," Sarah said softly, leaning her head against my shoulder.

I wrapped my arm around her, pulling her close. "You know, we could m always, extend the trip. Stay a little longer," I said, half-joking but half-hoping she'd say yes. She stopped, looking up atwith surprise and a glimmer of excitement in her eyes. "Extend it? You're serious?" I shrugged, trying to keep it casual. "Why not? We're already here. And there's still so much we haven't done." She smiled, her eyes bright, and I could see her mind whirling with possibilities. "I'd like that," she said finally, leaning back into me.

We stayed there for a long moment, just the two of us, the waves rolling in softly, the world feeling peaceful and far away.

It wasn't just a vacation-it was a chance for us to really reconnect, to find our way back to the love we'd built together.
