Chapter 1093 Taking You to Meet Someone
Without any hesitation, Alec continued, "Besides, if the money was obtained through legal
means, why would he bother transferring it through the black market? You should know
there are hefty transaction fees for transferring money through it."
Jenny understood the implication behind his words. As she looked through the information,
she fell into a low mood.
"Do you have any evidence to prove that the money came from Evan?" Jenny asked.
Although the source of the money was suspicious, it would be meaningless if Alec couldn't
provide evidence that the money came from Evan.
Alec's face darkened. Obviously, he didn't have any evidence.
Jenny put down the information and turned to him. "Alec, I know what you're thinking.
You've always been suspicious of Evan, but I still believe he isn't that kind of person.’

Alec didn’t elaborate more. Instead, he said, "Let's eat first. After that, I'll take you to meet
someone."
"Who are we going to meet?" Jenny asked.
"You'll know when we get there.’ Alec didn't plan on telling her immediately. When she met
the person, she would know.
Remembering that she forgot to visit Evan the night before, Jenny frowned and said, "I
need to go to the hospital to see Evan."
Alec slammed his fork down on the table.
"Jenny, if I can't prove that all of this is Evan's conspiracy, then you will have ample time
to spend with him abroad. Do you really have to be in such a hurry to see him?"

"I really doubt that you like me, Jenny. Tell me, do you like him or me?"
Alec had wanted to ask that question for a long time. Jenny's concern for Evan was far
greater than her concern for him. It was difficult for him to see any affection from her
toward him.
Alec's words made Jenny realize how much she had wronged him. Lowering her head, she
explained softly, "But Evan is in his state today because of me..."
"That is assuming whatever happened has nothing to do with him," Alec interrupted her.
If Evan had orchestrated everything, then her guilt would be ridiculous. Jenny didn't try to
refute that. Well, since Alec wanted to prove it, she would let him.
The two of them fell into silence, brooding in a tense, gloomy atmosphere for the rest of
breakfast, which soon ended. Alec had woken up early in the morning to buy Jenny's
favorite pancakes, but now there were still quite a few left on the table. Clearly, neither of
them had any appetite.

"Since we have no appetite to eat, let's go." Alec noticed that Jenny couldn't eat anything,
so he didn't want to waste any more time.
Jenny followed him, and they both got into the car. She didn't ask Alec where he was
taking her. She trusted that he wouldn't harm her.
After the car had pulled away from Alec's house, Jenny's phone rang. Picking up the
phone, she noticed that it was a call from Evan. She secretly glanced at Alec, who was
focused on driving and seemed not to have noticed her.
After hesitating for a moment, Jenny answered the phone, afraid that something might
have happened to Evan.
"Jenny, are you busy?’ Evan asked. He sounded rather weak.
Jenny became worried as soon as she heard it. "What's wrong, Evan? Are you feeling
unwell?’
"No, I was a bit worried because you didn't come over last night," he said.
