Chapter 501 - Don't Go!
Rutherford had been watching his child ever since she had stopped weeping last night.
He also knew that she had not fallen asleep for even a second after he placed her between himself and his wife.
Her spirits were weary and her face was pale throughout the night and this had continued even in the morning.
As Dawn broke, she had woken him up and he made preparations to head out soon after.
Right now, he was seated beside his child in the carriage as they headed towards the Tanner estate while the sun wasn't even fully in the sky.
The streets were still dark and a cold breeze filled the air as they traveled at a high speed on the empty roads.
The Tanner estate was about fifteen minutes away from their estate and throughout the journey, Yvonne remained silent and lost in her thoughts.
He even noticed that she had now regained her composure but there were still too many fears which were shrouding her mind.
As the carriage slowed down, Yvonne looked up and found that they had reached their destination.
The Butler of the Tanner family was standing outside to greet them and escort them inside.
Bowing to the members of the St. Claire's family who had arrived, he promptly led them inside.
What the little girl and her father had not noticed was that their arrival this early in the morning had caught the sights of many people in this estate.
The Tanner estate which also had the grounds where the Red Scorpion Knights trained was now buzzing with news of the Earl and his child arriving this early in the morning to visit the Duke.
The Captain training them frowned as he looked towards the Mansion at a distance from his training grounds.
'She has her class with me soon so what is she doing here?' Captain Desmo Reel narrowed his eyes while wondering whether his pupil was trying to skip classes today.
The other knights training under him were not yet aware that this scary man had taken a disciple and that too a young girl at that.
Therefore, they assumed that just like them, their Captain was also interested to know more about what was happening inside the Duke's mansion right at this minute.

Inside a parlor whose decor was elegant and lavish, Yvonne and Earl St. Claire sat opposite the Duke and Duchess of this estate.
"May I ask why the Earl had asked for an audience this early in the morning?" Duke Tanner sat with his back straight and faced the pair of father and child seated before him.
For everyone else, it could be considered too early but for people of this estate, this was their usual timing.
The Duke and Duchess were already awake and had even had breakfast when they heard their Butler announcing that Earl St. Claire had sent a letter informing that he wished to speak with them.
Before he could answer, the Duchess had agreed and asked the Butler to accept their request.
Thus, the father and child were seated before them after gaining the Duchess' approval.
"Vonna wished to speak to you," Rutherford announced, shifting their attention to the child beside him.
Duchess Beatrice Tanner smiled at the adorable little girl, encouraging her to speak up but found that she appeared too gloomy this morning.
Yvonne cleared her throat as she looked into the eyes of the pretty woman seated before her.
"Duchess, please don't go." She revealed the reason why she had come all the way here and also the reason for her distress since last night.
Confusion was apparent in everyone's eyes at her statement.
Even the Earl shook his head when the Duke shot him a questioning glance.
He too did not know what she was talking about so how could he explain it to them.
"Go where, Vonny?" Duchess Beatrice inquired to help clear the confusion in the air.
Biting her lip hard, the little girl looked down and shook her head.
"I do not know…" She muttered in a whisper as she was ignorant of this piece of information.
Duke Tanner narrowed his eyes when he saw that she was not making sense now.
"All I know is… Don't go anywhere!" She exclaimed, trying her best not to tear up once again.
Rutherford patted her back when he saw that she was getting agitated just like how she was last night.
Beatrice too noticed that the little girl looked paler than usual and was worried that she might not be feeling too well.
"Why not, my dearest pupil?" A lazy voice was heard coming from the door and everyone turned in their direction.
Walking into the room was someone Yvonne was too familiar with.
"Greetings, Marquess." She wished her tutor who took his seat on an empty couch as he nodded at her.
Duke Tanner's eyebrows twitched when he saw how his little brother-in-law just waltzed into the room as though he owned the place.
"What brings you here, Sullivan?" He interrogated, unhappy that this brat had come to steal his wife away from him as always.
When the Samed siblings, Beatrice and Sullivan met, they would always spend hours together, conversing, discussing, debating, and sometimes even arguing with each other.
This meant that the amount of time Duke Tanner had with his wife would be cut short and he disliked it immensely.
Therefore, he was hostile to this man who often stopped by their place and got on his nerves.
"Did you forget what day it is?" Sullivan Samed tilted his head at the Duke who was growing old enough to not remember what day it was.
This reminder made Duke Tanner recall why he was here and his dissatisfaction only grew stronger.
Yvonne and Rutherford were ignorant of what they were talking about as this was the Tanner and Samed familys' personal affair.
However, since she had met her tutor here, she had to speak to him as well.
Her burning gaze on him made the Marquess turn in her direction as he glanced at his pupil.
His eyes were quick to see her pale face and her red eyes which made him frown.
"What is it?" He inquired, focusing his entire attention on her.

This was enough to give him a clue of what she desired.
"I will be taking my pupil to converse with her in private." He announced and rose from his seat, gesturing to her to follow him.
The little girl hopped down from the couch, nodded at her father that she would be fine then bowed to the Duke and Duchess before running after her tutor.
Marquess Samed was a frequent visitor to this estate so he led her to the room that was assigned to him here.
Now inside a safe place, Yvonne was free to speak her mind.
"Marquess, cancel your plans of traveling this summer." She requested with a tone of pleading hidden in her voice.
The man was surprised that she had repeated similar words to his sister and now to him as well.
"Explain yourself." He uttered, without accepting or rejecting her request.
Calming her senses, Yvonne looked him in the eyes and decided that she needed his help if she wanted to change what she had seen in her dream.
"You are going to travel outside the Capital soon, aren't you?" She questioned and saw him freeze for a second.
This indicated that she was right which only meant that what she had seen in her dream was also true, further causing her face to grow pale.
"Are… Are Big Brother Taylor and the Duchess accompanying you?" She muttered while gripping her dress tight.
If earlier Marquess Samed was confused, now he was surprised as she had guessed it right once again.
"Yes, what about it?" He retorted as he did have such plans with his sister and nephew.
"Don't go!" Yvonne demanded with fear and worry apparent in her eyes.
Marquess Samed frowned when he saw how she had just asked him not to leave without any valid reasons.
"Why?" He continued to prod, not willing to accept unless she gave him a proper answer.
"You… Your lives might be in danger." The softest whisper heard in the room made him freeze.
Recovering quickly, Marquess Samed rubbed his chin while gazing at her head which was lowered now.
"What makes you so sure about it?" He interrogated, finally interested in what she was about to say.
'Because I saw you three die in my vision!' Yvonne pushed down the words that were on the tip of her tongue as she could not just reveal this to him straightaway.
