Chapter 5929 Yet just then, a loud crash could be heard from the lobby. Darryl looked over, and saw Avalon standing before a pile of shattered ceramics with an awkward expression on her face. He hurried over, speaking in a warm tone. "What happened? Are you hurt?" Avalon shook her head, hanging it in guilt. "I'm fine. I just saw the pretty vase, and touched it a little. I didn't know it would break so easily." Following that, Avalon lowered her voice to a whisper. "Does it cost a lot?" "That's alright!" Darryl chuckled. "It's just a vase." As he spoke, Darryl eyed the vase. It was fine and smooth, and looked to be around a few centuries old judging from the design on it.

Yet to Felix, this would be hardly anything.

"Hey!" Just as the pair were speaking, the receptionist hurried over. She cried out at the sight of the shattered vase. "What's going on here? Do you know how much this vase is? Can you even afford it?" As the words rang through the air, a few security guards rushed over to surround the pair.

"You there!" The next second, the security guard looked Darryl up and down. "How dare you cto our hotel trying to start something looking the way you do! Do you know how much this vase costs?" Darryl frowned, sensing his attitude.

Avalon had a mouth, and could not hold back anymore. She stuck her tongue out at the security guards. "It's just a vase! What's the big deal?" "What did you just say?" The guard stepped forwards, glowering at Avalon as if he was about to hit her.

Darryl stepped in front of her at once. "A grown man, threatening a child?" The guard's face turned an ugly shade of red. "As if I would bother wasting my energy on a peasant child! Pay up, I'm telling you, or you're not leaving." "Who said I was leaving?" Darryl asked calmly.

It was just a vase. Was all of this really necessary? Many guests had heard the noise, and gathered forward to watch.

"What's going on?" At the stime, the hotel manager strode in briskly, escorted by a few of his workers.

The manager's nwas Calvin Stevens. He had a good number of connections in Valencia city, and was considered pretty popular. Felix had sought him out two years ago, and had him manage his hotel.

QUMS Calvin spotted the shattered vase on the ground, and his expression darkened immediately. "What's the meaning of this?" It was important to note that his boss had gotten this vase from the New World, and it cost a pretty penny. They had put it out for show like this in the lobby as an omen of good luck... and now it had shattered! "Sir." The security guard called out to Calvin, before pointing at Avalon. "This good-for-nothing brat broke it." As he spoke, the guard looked at Darryl again. "She chere with this broke commoner. I'm pretty sure they're thieves. It's my fault for letting it slip my eye and allowing them in here at all." Motherf*cker! Darryl was torn between amusement and annoyance at the words.

It was enough that this security guard had accused him of not being able to afford the vase, and now he was calling him a thief? Just then, the people crowded around broke out into discussion at the security guard's words. They gazed at Darryl even more condescendingly.

"These thieves really are getting brave, aren't they? Robbing a five-star hotel, oh my..." "Their luck, I guess. Didn't steal anything, and ended up breaking a vase to boot..."

"This vase isn't cheap, either. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be able to pay for it even he sold himself." The voices grew louder and louder, but Darryl paid them no mind.

Avalon could not take it, however, and shouted back at the crowd.m "Watch your mouths we aren't thieves, we're here to stay at this hotel!" Ha ha...

The crowd stopped short at her words, before bursting out into laughter.

"Ha ha... what did she say? She wants to live here?"

"What a joke. Beggars like you couldn't afford a night here, even it you begged on the streets for a year." you
