Chapter 4490

The Ancient Ancestor’s fairy soul was in the hands of Archfiend Antigonus.

Of course, Yvette was more than shocked.

"Thoth, Ganon."

Just as Yvette was exclaiming to herself, Archfiend Antigonus addressed the other two

Fiend Martyrs. "Who is this lady you have brought here?" As he spoke, he sized Yvette up.

Under his terrifying stare, Yvette trembled lightly. It was as if he could see right through

her.

"Your Majesty!"

Thoth scrambled to answer. "Her name's Yvette Lane. She's a princess of the New World

Royals, and she has Janson’s inheritance. She's also a fiend descendant."

As he spoke, an unreadable expression passed through Thoth's features." But she's also

Darryl Darby's lover. She's been plotting against the fiend race this entire time."

A fiend descendant and Darryl Darby's lover?

Archfiend Antigonus' expression darkened. He said, "Alright, I understand. You've both

worked hard. You're dismissed. Go get some rest."

"Yes, Your Majesty."

Thoth and Ganon called out in unison and left the palace.

Archfiend Antigonus and Yvette were the only ones left in the gigantic black palace.

The air was thick with unspeakable tension.

Yvette felt as if she had to struggle to catch her breath, especially under Archfiend

Antigonus' terrifying aura. Her body trembled, but she fought to put on a neutral

expression.

Yvette was incredibly strong-willed, despite her frail-looking form.

"You have Janson's inheritance?"

Archfiend Antigonus' gaze burned into Yvette as he asked the question." You've got

Janson's powers, and that's how you got the fiend soul energy in you, yes?"

"That's right." Yvette nodded, not bothering to hide the truth.

Archfiend Antigonus nodded before he said, "That makes you a fiend descendant. Why

help Darryl Darby, then?"

Yvette let out a breath and said, "Because I love him. I'll fight by his side, regardless of

who he's fighting for or against."

As she spoke, Yvette stared directly at Archfiend Antigonus. "But you won't understand

that because you don't know what love is. All you know is war and bloodshed."

Archfiend Antigonus did not flare up in a rage. Instead, he laughed and said, "Romance is

for the weak and vulnerable. Only by letting go of your desires will you be capable of great

success."

As he spoke, Archfiend Antigonus got to his feet slowly. He walked toward Yvette. "You

seem to have great potential, and you also have Janson's inheritance. Swear your eternal

loyalty to me now, and I'll make you a Fiend Martyr. You'll hold the same power as the

other twelve Fiend Martyrs."

Archfiend Antigonus' gaze was filled with hope.

There were many things on the fiend folk's plate, and they desperately needed new

talented recruits. If Yvette were willing to join them, that would be great news.

"Sorry. Not interested."

Yet Yvette did not hesitate as she turned him down!

The expression on Archfiend Antigonus' face shifted. He had proposed such a generous

offer, yet she turned him down? What would people say if that got out?

All at once, the tension in the palace thickened even more.

Yvette's chest pounded with nerves as well. Was Archfiend Antigonus going to kill her for

turning down his offer to join the fiend race?

"Very well!"

Archfiend Antigonus flashed a sinister smile. "You're the first person ever to turn me down.

I must say, I admire your courage.

"Since you insist, though, you can't fault me for what I'm about to do."

Archfiend Antigonus raised his hands. A black fog materialized, making a beeline for

Yvette.

"You-"

At the sight of the incoming fog, Yvette felt an unexplainable fear. She said, "What are you

going to do?" As she spoke, Yvette tried to dodge. However, her acupoint had been

sealed, and she could not move at all.

Quickly enough, Yvette was sucked into the black fog. Dizziness crept over her as her

vision darkened, and her consciousness began to blur.

Archfiend Antigonus muttered a string of spells quickly.

Indeed, Archfiend Antigonus cast the Mind Control Spell. Once under the spell, Yvette

would heed his every demand and listen to all his orders.
