Chapter 4224

The children Rory had brought Skylar in the past were always in varying states of fear-they

were always screaming and crying. After all, they were children, and that was only a

natural response to a situation like that.

Yet, those children looked like they had struck gold. It was as if they were anticipating

something to happen.

Crap.

The look on Skylar’s face instantly made Kendall's heart pounded.

However, she was an intelligent lady, and she thought of a response quickly enough. She

flashed a reassuring smile. "Oh, right! Sect Master. I've disciplined those children, and

they won't cause a ruckus. That way, you'll have a much easier time cultivating."

"Wonderful."

Skylar smiled at her words, speaking with pride in his voice. "I truly don't have to worry

about you doing things for me."

Skylar finally put down all his inhibitions.

He would never have guessed the deadly motive behind her warm and obedient's front.

Since Skylar was no longer suspicious, Kendall let out a breath of relief. She smiled. "Well,

I'll leave you to it, then. I'll be going now." Then, she left the Prayer Tower.

However, Kendall did not leave once she exited. Instead, she lay hidden, silently observing

the situation in the Prayer Tower.

Meanwhile, in the Prayer Tower.

Skylar smiled at the 20 children before him. He felt at ease.

Indeed, Kendall was much better at doing tasks. Rory was utterly useless- he had failed to

get the four additional children, and that had put a damper in Skylar's progress. Midnight

had passed, so he had to work harder in his cultivation.

Skylar waved at one of the children. "You! Come here."

The young boy did not hesitate at all. He rushed forward gleefully and said, "Are you going

to teach me the ultimate cultivation methods, Teacher?" Skylar was clad in white and

radiated charm. He did look like a teacher.

The child had not sensed any danger and thoroughly believed that Skylar would teach him

ultimate cultivation methods.

At the same time, the other children stared at Skylar. Excitement and awe were in their

gazes.

Teach them ultimate cultivation methods?

Skylar furrowed his brows for a split second before breaking into a smile as he nodded.

"That's right. I'll teach you that. Come here. All you have to do is sit before me like a good

boy."

As he spoke, Skylar let out an impressed sigh internally.

Of course, Kendall would be smart enough to trick those children by telling them that they

would learn cultivation. No wonder they were all so obedient and excited.

Skylar was an intelligent man, and he managed to figure out what was going on quickly

enough. What he did not know was that Kendall had more planned for him.

At Skylar's commands, the boy moved to sit cross-legged before him.

Buzz...

Without hesitation, Skylar began to channel his fiend soul. He raised his right arm and put

it on the boy's head.

Intense energy burst from Skylar’s palm, sucking the boy's soul at an alarming pace.

The boy's bodyjerked as an unexplainable pain spread through him and took over every

single one of his nerves. His brain buzzed as he tried and failed to move. He could not

even speak.

Thud.

A few seconds later, the boy's face drained entirely of color as he fell to the floor lifelessly.

Since it was only his spirit that had been deprived, the boy looked pretty much unharmed-

asleep, at best.

However, that sight made the other children freeze in fear.

One of the children mustered the courage to ask Skylar. "Sir, what happened to him?"

"The cultivation method I passed to him was too strong, and it knocked him out. He'll be

fine in a bit," Skylar said with a smile.

Skylar could hardly care if the children knew the truth. That was just the easiest to do

things-ignorance was bliss. 1

The children let out sighs of relief. So, the kid fainted because the force was too strong for

him.

Then, Skylar turned to wave at another one of the children. "Your turn!"

The child rushed forward, scrambling to sit down obediently before Skylar even had to say

anything.

Skylar did not waste another moment. He channeled his fiend soul and began to suck the

spirit out of the child.

Thud, thud...

Two minutes later, Skylar had sucked ten of the children's spirits. All ten of them had

collapsed to the floor lifelessly. Their bodies lay there unmoving.
