Marwell didn't say anything when they reached the entrance.
He waved his right hand and asked them to stop. He then turned to Michelle and said, "Why don't you take Austin away so he can have srest? Find him the best room." "Father!" Michelle was a clever girl. She had sensed that something was off.
"Do as | say!" Marwell urged her adamantly.
"Okay." Michelle turned to Austin and said, "Follow me, please." Austin glanced at Marwell, then quietly walked into the door behind her.
A young man from the Meng family remarked, "Who's that guy? Michelle was really nice to him!" Another one said, "Yes, it's so weird. She is never nice to men." The fact that she was politely leading a man so that he could take rest was enough to make people surprised. She had never done that before.
"Your house is so big and beautiful. | like it here," Austin said when they entered a capacious yard.
"Really?" Michelle replied flatly. She looked worried and absent-minded.
"By the way, what's all this about the crystal mine?" Austin asked.
"Well..." Michelle paused in her steps for a moment, then she continued in her stride and said to Austin, "We have a lot of tto talk about it. Why don't you have a rest first?" Austin realized she didn't want to talk about it. Consequently, he suppressed his curiosity and continued behind her.
"Okay. This is the guest room. You can rest here. We'll talk later." Michelle said to him after stopping just outside a room.
Austin nodded.
"See you later." Michelle turned around and left. Austin was a little intrigued by the sudden change in Michelle. He could remember that she was so cold and stubborn when they had met in the black forest, but now she was so soft and elegant.
The next day, Austin woke up at ten o'clock.
Marwell and Michelle were busy, so they asked a young man to take Austin to have breakfast. After he had finished, Austin took a walk around the grounds.
Suddenly he heard a commotion coming from somewhere.
"Stop! Barstow, let go of me!" It was definitely Michelle's voice.
Austin was intrigued as to what was going on.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtMichelle was the daughter of Meng family. Who would dare to be rude to her? He quietly walked over towards the source of the noise.
The voice led him- to an isolated yard. The yard was covered with different kinds of plants. The plants created a cool and a peaceful atmosphere.
There were stone tables and chairs in the yard. Austin surmised this was where the guests were entertained.
Several people were standing besides the stone table. They were the ones creating the noise.
Amongst them was a handsyoung man wearing a long apricot yellow gown. He looked slick haired and well-dressed, but smiled evilly. His demeanor was upsetting.
The man's voice reeked of arrogance.
He was grabbing Michelle's arm, and she looked visibly irritated.
"Michelle, don't you know that | love you? Don't you think I'm the man best qualified to marry you?" He stared at Michelle with eyes as red as a starving wolf who had sighted its food. Michelle felt helpless -and tried to flee but there was no way out.
"Could you please let go of my arms, Barstow? Its hurting me." Michelle was trembling and gritting her teeth. It was obvious that she hated the guy. However, she desperately wanted to avoid any conflict.
Austin couldn't understand her behavior. She was tough and straightforward with him when they were in the black forest. But now, when the slick haired guy was insulting her, she was so tolerant. Why?! Austin thought, "Maybe the man is from a very influential family. One more powerful one than Meng family." "Barstow, listen to me. You have already got five wives. Isn't it enough for you? Why can't you just let go of me? | don't love you at all!" Michelle said. She wanted to get rid of him but in vain.
"Keep your hands off my sister!" A boy rushed into the yard and shouted at Barstow. It was Joyce.
"Welclittle Joyce.
Csay hello to your brother-in-law, am | right?" He patted Joyce's head and looked him in the eyes, smiling menacingly.
"Hey, Marco. Take Joyce back to his room." Michelle didn't want to make a mountain of a molehill and cause trouble to her family. Hence, she ordered for Joyce to be taken away.
Marco walked up to take Joyce's hand.
"I'm talking to Michelle. How dare you interrupt us? Get the fuck out of here!" With that, Barstow raised his hand and punched Marco in the face. Marco was just at preliminary stage of the Mysterious Realm.
Barstow, however was at the Sky Realm. There was no way Marco could bear such a hit. Poor Marco flied away, hit a tree, and fainted "Bastard! How dare you!" Joyce was shocked. He rushed towards Barstow and took a bite of his hand.
"Fuck!" Barstow shouted. His face twitched in pain. He then turned around and held Joyce between his arms creating a loop around his neck.
"Letgo! Letgo!" Joyce struggled.
"Barstow, enough!" Michelle couldn't help control herself. She activated her vital energy force, and decided this was enough.
She punched Barstow right in his face. It was too quick for Barstow to react. To defend himself, he let go of Joyce. Joyce cback to Michelle.
Seeing what happened, Austin thought, "Michelle's tolerant, but she'll fight back if her patience is tested. And she is still as strong and tough as before. What a remarkable girl!" "Michelle, what the hell are you doing? How can you hit me? How dare you? Are you a fool? For curing your mother, only the Sunset Elixir would be effective. You know that the Sunset Elixir is a stage four elixir, don't you? And only those refiners of stage four would be able to make it. The Sunset Elixir is no use to the others except to your mother.
So it's impossible for you to buy it in any elixir stores even at any auctions.
It can be refined only by a refiner of stage four.
We all know that there are many refiners of stage one, two and three in Stone City, but the refiner of stage four are extremely rare.
In fact, there's only one around. And That is my master.
If you want to save your mother, you have to use the Sunset Elixir. You have no choice but to beg my master for it.
As far as | know, your mother will probably die in a month if she doesn't get hold of the elixir.
Michelle, | promise that I'll go ask my master to make the sunset elixir for you. But, only if you agree to marry me.
Would you consider my suggestion, Michelle? | really love you!" Barstow spoke sincerely to Michelle. He presumed that he had grasped her vulnerable point, and smiled complacently at her.
"Bah! They just need a refiner of stage four?" Hiding behind a tree, Austin had heard every word they said He sneered when he heard about the refiner of stage four.
By now he had cto know what was happening.
Michelle's mother was badly ill. Only the sunset elixir could save her.
But only the refiner of stage four could refine the elixir. In Stone City, Barstow's master was the only refiner who could make it.
That was why Michelle didn't want to create a scene.
"Barstow, it's true, but... Do you have to make it so complicated?" Michelle was helpless when she heard that. She felt handcuffed.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"Michelle, the choice is yours. | think you'll make a smart decision.
As | said before, I'm the best qualified man to marry you. I'm already a refiner of stage three.
My master toldthat he will help me. It's likely that I'll be a refiner of stage four in a few years.
Uncountable girls in the Stone City want to marry me, but | don't like any of them.
Michelle, it'll be good for your family if you decide to marry me.
You'll be the wife of a refiner of stage four. Can you imagine that? | can provide all the elixirs you need, even to all the people in your family.
Well, Michelle, do you need to know more to decide?" Barstow was confident that he had convinced Michelle. He walked to her and tried to hug her.
Michelle pushed him away. Frustrated, she began crying.
This was too much for Austin to bear. He cout of his hiding place.
"Hey, you! Keep your hands off the girl!" Barstow was about to get close to Michelle, but was interrupted by a voice. A young man was walking to them with a purpose.
"Austin! What's he doing here?" Michelle thought.
"Who the hell are you? You'd better get lost before | cat you. Did you not hear me? You filthy dog! Don't makecto you!" Barstow was pissed at the intrusion.
Austin looked like a child to Barstow, possibly from the Meng family. Barstow didn't think he would have to show srespect.
"Quite arrogant aren't we?" Austin disappeared, and suddenly appeared ‘right in front of Barstow. He grabbed one of Barstow's hands and twisted it.
With a crack.
The finger that Barstow was pointing menacingly at Austin had broken.
"Holy shit!" Barstow was astonished by what happened. He couldn't expect a boy of Meng family dared to fight against him—the most famous young refiner in Stone City.
"Austin, what has gotten into you?" Michelle was shocked.
Barstow was a bastard. But he was the only man who could save her mother. How could Austin treat him like that?
