Chapter 49 The heat of the moment swirled into Nancy's ears, sending invisible, tiny currents of electricity zipping through her from head to toe.
Nancy's face turned beet red as she spun around and stumbled backward, her foot snagging in the thick carpet. She couldn't regain her balance and began to fall backward uncontrollably.
But the expected pain never came. Before Nancy could even process what was happening, she found herself gently caught in Judson's arms.
"Babe, watch your step," Judson's resigned voice filled her ear. "Or were you hoping I'd catch you?" Nancy snapped, "Stop it!" Facing Judson so closely, especially breathing in his unique scent, their proximity allowed her to feel the warmth radiating from his body.

Watching her, Judson couldn't help but chuckle softly, "Babe, you're blushing. Are you shy?" That remark only made Nancy's face burn hotter, her tone edging into annoyance.
"Stop calling'babe.' I don't like it. I have things to do. You can find instant noodles in the kitchen if you're hungry." With that, Nancy grabbed her car keys from the table and darted away.
Judson watched her leave, a complex expression hidden in his eyes.
All her colleagues were already there when Nancy arrived at the Twilight Tower Hotel.
"Lena, you finally made it. You're not late but will have to down a few drinks as punishment," Winnie said warmly, draping an arm around Nancy's.
Nancy smiled and nodded, then noticed someone was missing. "Where's Orlando?" As soon as she mentioned his name, the others couldn't help but laugh teasingly. Seeing their reaction, Nancy had a sinking feeling in her stomach.
Suddenly, the lights dimmed, and a spotlight focused on the hotel's center stage. Even Nancy couldn't help but look, her pupils dilating in shock.
There stood Orlando, holding a large bouquet of pink roses and dressed in a handmade white suit that made him look like a dashing prince charming.
Feeling Orlando's intense gaze, Nancy's unease grew. Orlando wasn't about to...

"Lena." His voice was tender as he spoke.
Almost simultaneously, the spotlight fell on Nancy, highlighting the stunning pair they made. The entire room turned its attention to Nancy and Orlando.
Orlando kneeled on one knee, his gaze burning into Nancy.
"My dear Lena, my feelings for you have never changed. I had thought I could keep them in check, but from the moment 'saw you, I couldn't I resist. Please, will you be my girlfriend?" he said, presenting a pink ten-carat diamond ring. The crowd erupted into cheers, "Say yes! Say yes!" But Nancy's expression turned cold, her lips pressed tightly, as she looked down at Orlando. "Please stand up."
A flicker of pain crossed Orlando's eyes. "Lena, I know you were hurt before, but givea chance. I'l prove to you that I can love you forever!"
Nancy's expression clouded over, she say especially when she saw Orlando on one knee, a sight that painfully reminded her of Cyrus' proposal. Sensing Nancy's anger, Winnie stepped forward to intervene.
