Chapter 2153 Calling Logan
While Aurora was washing herself up, Ian and Cindy went back into their bedroom, and then Sean called. Must be
about Leah. Ian took the call, and Cindy huddled closer to listen in.
Sean said, "The cops found something. Simon's probably related to this."
A frown furrowed Ian's brow. Confused, he asked, "Why? Is he a suspect?"
Sean grunted, then he said, "He seems to be in a lot of debt, and some people saw him seeking out Leah lately."
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtSean wasn't too sure if that was the case, but that was their lead. Simon was not a man with a conscience. He
would ask his mother to clear his debts for him. Leah wasn't living her best life either, so she wanted to keep some
money for herself. They might have gotten into an argument over that. Perhaps they might have gotten into a fight,
and Simon went too far.
After a while, Ian sighed. "If that's the truth, then Simon's an animal."
Sean sighed as well. "He's been a fool all these years." If it weren't for Leah keeping him safe, Bryce would've
kicked Simon out of the house. Simon was an ingrate, so Sean wouldn't be surprised if he was a matricidal maniac.
Ian asked Sean if Simon was found. Sean sighed. "Not yet. I've sent my men on a search, but he's been hiding for a
while. Leah tried to search for him, but she failed. He's been hiding in the shadows for a bit, so if he is the
murderer, I bet he'll be hiding deeper in the darkness."
So, it won't be easy to find Simon. I guess he has a point. Not like I'm in a hurry, though, Ian thought. "The cops
should realize this lead as well. They should have a better time finding him. If you can't find him, you can always
just give up."
Sean grunted. "Not like we'll be affected, so don't worry." All we have is speculation. We need the cops' report on
this.
Once Ian hung up, he hesitated for a while and called Logan. Even though Lola was already married to him, Ian
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmknew he still could get news about the cops' investigation.
Logan knew why Ian called, and he chuckled. "Thought you wouldn't ask. Guess you do care."
Ian didn't care, but he was still human, and curiosity was a part of him, so he wanted to know more details. After
some tongue-clicking, Ian said, "I just want to know whom she crossed to end up in this mess."
Logan stayed quiet for a long while. He probably went to a quiet corner. About ten seconds later, he said, "The cops
didn't tell us any details, but I have my sources." He tut-tutted. "To be clear, this is just a rumor. I haven't seen her
body, but my sources told me she died a horrible death. Her whole head was disfigured. Well, I disfigured her face,
but when the cops found her body, she was in a worse state than I left her with." Logan thought the cops would
come to him over suspicions of him ruining her face, but to his surprise, they never came. In the end, he told his
men to seek out some clues.
