Chapter 1587 Persuasion
Cindy gave it some thought—did any part of her argument with Ian yesterday violate her personal principles?
I don’t think so.
However, was it reasonable for her to look past their dispute for the sake of Aurora?
That won’t work either.
For that reason, Cindy simply went silent altogether.
Aurora seemed to be out of ideas on the other end of the line. She was unsure of the story behind their
disagreement, so she was a little lost for words and could only convince Cindy with some general words of courtesy.
“Ian has never been together with another girl all his life, so you can’t blame him for being stubborn at times. For
that, he’ll need some time to change his bad habits. Anyhow, all couples fight! Here, let me apologize to you on his
behalf.”
Cindy obviously couldn’t bring herself to accept Aurora’s apology. She told the lady that there wasn’t a need for
that.

was having a hard time when I saw him sitting alone on the sofa all depressed this morning. Fights are always like
this—you yell the most unpleasant things at each other with no consideration, all to make the other person feel bad.
If he said unacceptable things to you, I just know that he didn’t mean any of it. He’s probably regretting all of it
now.”
Aurora put it in such a positive and optimistic way that Cindy didn’t have the words to argue.
Sure enough, the worst thing one could do in a two-person fight was to involve a third person, especially an elder.
Not only that, but Aurora was being quite reasonable and logical, so Cindy couldn’t resist but give in.
Thus, Cindy hesitated before saying, “Please don’t try to change my mind, Mrs. Morgan. I think what both of us
need the most right now is to calm down. Since Ian’s schedule has been temporarily halted, I’m going to take a
break as well in the meantime. I’ve decided to go home to see my family, so we’ll talk about it again when his
problems are settled.”
Aurora was certainly reluctant to let Cindy leave just like that. She knew the latter’s hometown was elsewhere. If
the two separated right after having a fight without resolving their conflict as soon as possible, it would be difficult
to tell if they could get together again in the future.
It was indeed common for couples to fight, but the moment two people stopped communicating after one and
calmed down separately instead, their relationship would most likely cool down with the passing of time. In the end,
the spark between them would be gone altogether.
Aurora quickly said, “No, no, don’t do that. Where are you right now? I’ll come to you. Just tell me everything you’re
unhappy with and I’ll stand up for you. Let’s teach him a lesson together.”
A complicated feeling filled Cindy’s chest. Aurora clearly looked down on her before, but the woman was now acting
like she was fully on her side.
As such, things were getting harder to deal with.
She’d rather have Aurora act like she did before and refuse to accept her as Ian’s girlfriend no matter what. If so,
she’d have a much easier time splitting up with Ian.
However, now that Aurora was standing in between them, Cindy would feel sorry toward the older woman for lying
to her when it was time for the couple to go their separate ways.

Sensing Cindy’s silence, Aurora hastily asked again, “I can’t possibly have you roaming around aimlessly like this—
you don’t have any family or friends in the city, after all. Where are you? I’ll come to you. You can tell me
everything! I’ve always taken you as part of our family, so there’s no need to be shy with me.”
Cindy stood on the street as she stared at the busy passersby. Aurora’s final sentence suddenly brought tears to her
eyes.
In the end, she told Aurora the location of the hotel she’d spent the night in.
Before she could say anything else, Aurora assured her, “Don’t worry. I won’t tell anyone about this. I’ll make him
think he can’t contact you to scare the life out of him.”
Then, Aurora told Cindy to wait at the hotel, saying that she would be there right away. Then, she hung up.
Cindy had actually gone quite a long way from the hotel. She turned around and started walking back with her
hands in her pockets.
After just a few steps, her phone rang in her pocket again.
Cindy was in a much better mood probably due to the conversation with Aurora. This time, she took out her phone
and answered the call with no hesitation.
It was Naomi.
When Naomi realized that her call had been picked up, she said right away, “Hey, why didn’t you answer when I
called you last night?”
