Chapter 1404
When she heard him completely shatter her hopes, Sophia chuckled bitterly. “Theo, don’t get me wrong. We’ve
already broken up, and I have no expectations of you. I just hope you can do me a favor before you leave, okay?
After being burnt once, Theo was now cautious of anything she asked of him. “What favor?”
Sophia propped her chin up with a slightly annoyed look. “There’s this guy who has been pursuing me for years.
Now that I’ve given up on you, I’m considering him.” Theo agreed. “Yeah, that sounds good.”
Sophia blinked her eyes and looked at him earnestly. “Theo, if you ever considered me a friend, could you check
him out for me? He’ll be here to pick me up soon. You guys know each other better, right? Can you help me see if

Faced with Sophia’s reasonable request, Theo glanced at his watch and found that there was still time.
If Sophia found someone suitable, Thaddeus would stop targeting Ellinor.
So, Theo nodded. “Sure.”
Back home.
Ellinor received a photo from Theo. It was an airplane ticket that said he was leaving at around eleven today.
She opened the photo, and her heart started pounding.
Was the issue resolved?
A flight today meant Theo would be home by this time tomorrow.
She excitedly gripped her phone as her hanging heart finally fell. Yet she couldn’t completely relax until Theo was
truly home.
“What’s got you so happy?”
Suddenly, a hand gently patted her head from behind. Balfour came around and sat down in front of the couch,
looking at her with a teasing smile. Ellinor snapped back to reality and became expressionless. “Am I happy?”
Balfour reached out and lightly pinched her nose. “Aren’t you? Your eyes look like you’re eagerly anticipating
something. Are you thinking about that guy Theo again?”
Ellinor couldn’t control herself and blushed. She didn’t respond to his comment but asked, “Mr. Howard, why didn’t
you go to work yet after breakfast? Don’t feel like working today?”
Balfour was pleased that he could now chat with his sister like friends. The awkwardness they used to have was
gone. But he still had work to do to get his sister to naturally call him brother.

“There’s nothing much to do this morning. I’ll leave later. What do you want for dinner? I can bring it home for
you.”
Ellinor shook her head. “Whatever is okay. I don’t have any cravings. Could you pick up some cheese sticks for
Baber on your way home? I’ll send you the address later. The shop’s stuff is handmade, so there are no additives.”
Balfour frowned. He felt a bit sorry for his sister.
This girl was tough when she needed to be tough, but she was also soft too.
Baber was an adopted child, but not her adopted child. He was Patricia’s, the woman who brought her nothing but
trouble. Yet she still treated Baber like her own child. She really cared about him.
Balfour’s eyes were full of sympathy and tenderness as he nodded with a smile. “Okay, send me the address later,
and I’ll bring them home tonight.
