Chapter 1938
“I mean, if you’re gonna spread rumors that I’m someone’s mistress, might as well own it, right?” Ivy said with
indifference, putting her phone away and casting a cold gaze at the three figures before her.
These three were her closest kin, bound by blood, yet paradoxically, they were the cruelest and most callous
toward her. “Done checking the balance? Do you want the three million or not? Are you gonna sign the
agreement?”
Tessa, seeing the opportunity for a windfall, immediately plastered on a smile. “Sign? Of course, we’ll sign.”
“I want all three of you to sign it-handwritten signatures!”
Balfour was right to insist. Who knew if, after taking the money, they would return with some vile scheme to

her?
Getting everyone’s signature meant that Ivy could slap the proof right back in their faces if they ever reneged on
their
word.
“Finn, this… shall we sign?” Tessa could make decisions for herself but not for Finn, so she waited silently for his cue.
Finn frowned, eyeing Ivy for a long moment before finally nodding. “She’s not planning to stick around and play by
our rules anyway. What’s there to hesitate for? Sign it!”
Once Finn gave his approval, all three quickly affixed their signatures to the electronic agreement on Ivy’s phone.
Then, Ivy tossed the bank card onto the coffee table in the living room, severing her emotional ties with them for
good.
“This money is yours now. From this day forth, I’m no longer your daughter, please remember that!”
Tessa picked up the bank card, her face alight with excitement, while Finn sat beside her and snatched the card,
pocketing it.
As expected, they only cared about the money and didn’t care at all whether she existed as their daughter.
Ivy sighed deeply, not wanting to waste another word, and turned to leave the Dunhills’ residence.
Breaking free from her family entanglements should have been liberating for Ivy. However, as she stepped out of
the house, instead of feeling unburdened, she was overwhelmed by a profound sense of rootlessness.
This might very well be her last visit here. She was now without a home.
“Ivy, from now on, you live for yourself!” She couldn’t afford to wallow in sadness; there was so much more she had

Leaving the Dunhills behind, the urgent matter right now for Ivy was to find a job and save enough money to ensure
her
survival.
On top of that, she had Balfour’s three million to repay!
How could she quickly accumulate such a substantial sum of money? The weight of the debt bore down on her,
filling her with anxiety.
“Ivy.” A black sedan pulled up beside her, and Quinton stepped out to open the door for her. “Balfour sent me to
pick you up.”
Ivy was surprised to see Quinton but didn’t question it. Instead, she nodded and got into the car.
“Ivy, this is from Balfour,” Quinton said, handing her a box as he settled into the driver’s seat.
From Balfour? Ivy took the box and opened it to find a stunning cocktail dress inside.
“A dress from Mr. Howard? Is there some event he needs me to attend?”
