"Y-Yes... I had talked with my husband about this but he said that this might be a bluff call or as I'm imagining it to be. However I have my own issues and I don't want to risk anything.. even after just merely after a call.." Sierra answered honestly, where she was left in no position but to seek help from her own ex-boyfriend.
Not because she doesn't like it, but there were several reasons for her to not reveal this to him.
In fact, Sierra had controlled herself and tried to limit herself from even giving the minute details.
Yet the security he provided wasn't enough for her to actually escape from everything that is going around.
In other words, Charles's lips were set into a straight line before he questioned, "I will ask my man to actually go and search for that."
"But how about you? You can search about it on your own account."
"I can search too and I did. Unfortunately, the man is so clever that he never let me trace him." Sierra revealed to him,, making him give her a nod.
"Don't worry. I will see what I can do for you. But do you have any doubt over someone?" Charles asked, without trying to beat around the bush.

A frown appeared on his forehead as he questioned back, "You do, right?"
In response to him, she did give him a small nod, enough for him to understand that she isn't strange from all that is happening. 'There are tons of things which she is hiding from me. Yet she wants my help?' How was he supposed to help her if she wasn't nearly honest with him?
But on the second note,? his inner voice told him that wasn't telling the truth because of his own self. As if, she was trying and got caged for everything as possible but there was no way of doing so and he wasn't left with another choice but to not ask about the situation either.
Taking a deep breath, Charles picked up the cup present on the table before he took the sip out. So did Sierra follow her gaze towards her cup before she muttered, "My husband? ..has too many enemies. We can't name one."
"But you still have your own doubts and that gives me a hint that you already know the name. I'm just the confirming factor, right?" Charles can't help but ask, to which he got a positive response.
"But it would be better if you can find it out without me informing you. I want the correct result, not the influence of one's.." She told him honesty, and Charles agreed.
But then the silence had again fallen in between them. Both of them had chosen to keep themselves on the topic and formal.
There was no sign of hesitance but the worries. While Charles's hurt ached, so did Sierra while remembering their sour relationship.
In the end, they are nothing but a piece of their destiny, who have been together once but God forbid them from being together for a lifetime...
After clearing her throat, Sierra kept her head low. She didn't lift her eyes but surely, muttered, "I think, you should move on as well..."
Hearing this from her, made Charles's heart skip a beat. He was gazing at her fiercely, but to his dismay, she never matched the same.
"Why? Are you not happy to see me single?"
"No, that's the reason." Sierra cleared. "I want you to not let yourself.. torture in such a manner. Past is gone, look forward to future."
"Future...my future had faded with the black lights once you decided to go... without informing or anything," he told her honestly, but Sierra had no answers to it.
SIerra's heart was hammering against the chest on the old thoughts. At once, in the past, she would have never even imagined him getting married to someone else. The entire thought was another heartbreaking thought that rested in her heart.
But with the period of time, things have changed. She wasn't someone as before....however, the tinge of sadness was still present in the back of her head.
"Well...it's upon you. I just gave advice to you." Sierra answered with a low voice before she was concentrating on drinking her coffee which she ordered.

"'Oh, I forgot to tell you that Jack(this is different JACK) is coming back to the state to meet me and the children. Would you like to meet him?"
"Your husband?" Charles asked, trying not to sound too shocked to which Sierra graciously shook her head. "Yeah. Jack Shen."
"W-Why not..." In response, Charles gave a short smile, but what caught his eye was the excitement in Sierra's eyes.
She was way more than happy as if her entire universe was coming into her feet. 'Surely..she does love Jack a lot. Just like her children... '
And how much does he still long to see the spark in her eyes for him? How much does he miss the same?
Subconsciously, Charles had lowered his head to not stare at Sierra. Taking a deep breath, he didn't let his mood turn gloomy either, but with time, it was the turn for both of them to leave for work.
After exiting the cafe, Sierra went in the other direction where she had parked her car and Charles went directly inside his office.
Yet in contrast to the last time, there was a giant smile on Sierra's face. She was happy and somewhat relieved that Charles didn't reject another request, despite her multiple times annoying him due to her own issues..
Coming straight to her car, she unlocked it from the keys and sat inside. Tugging her seatbelt, Sierra switched the car on and kept her hand on the steering wheel to drive it.
Unfortunately, thereafter, she felt a hard object against her own head, from the back, where her eyes widened "T-this.."
"Nice to meet you personally, Miss Sierra Shen...."
