Arthur stepped back for a moment in surprise. The doubt in his mind was visible in the way he looked at me. "We
have a deal?" He asked

Arthur chuckled and cocked his head to the side. "I thought | would have to try harder to convince you.

| raised a brow in surprise. That was the last thing | expected him to say. | always assumed Arthur betrayed
everyone for his greed.
"If you don't care about power, then what do you care about?" | asked.
He fixed his gaze on me, his eyes trailed down my length and | becslightly uncomfortable beneath his
scrutiny. "True love."
I swallowed and nodded.
There was a sad look in his eyes that | didn't miss. It was obvious that Arthur wanted to be loved, to find a mate
that would be his and suddenly, | felt a pinch of guilt for what | was doing to him.
| just took advantage of his feelings forto achieve my goal. Still, | had no other choice. It was either this or
get killed by Pison in the long run.

"Thank you." | said to Arthur who nodded with a smile.
The rest of the breakfast passed silently as we both kept to our own thoughts.
The moment | was done eating, | stood up and Arthur looked at me.
"I'm done. If that is all, | would like to go back to the dungeon." | said.
Arthur raised a brow. "You makethink that you are desperate to go back to that place." He said.

Arthur stood up and walked to me. My eyes widened as he reached for me, and | cowered a little, trying to avoid
his touch.
