275 Fighting over the L word
Under a fluffy white quilt, two people lay in each other’s embrace with one restlessly moving his arm constantly.
That person could only be Yi Chen. His fingers were continually brushing against Zi Han’s already healed wound on his abdomen, kissing the hickeys on Zi Han’s back he himself left last night and rubbing his foot against Zi Han’s legs.
Despite all of this Zi Han didn’t wake up. His dreams were much more beautiful than reality thus his mind subconsciously refused to wake up.
Still stuck in his wonderful dream Zi Han shuffled around and lay with his face plastered on Yi Chen’s chest while mumbling, “I love you.”
Yi Chen, “...”
Who the fuck did Zi Han say he loved? Ever since they had gotten together Zi Han had never said it back to him. The best responses he got whenever he said I love you were a bright smile, a warm-hearted kiss, and one time he even got an unexpected mouth service on his lower half in the training room shower.
He recalled how Zi Han had pushed him against the wall and snapped open his belt before going down on him. That experience was so intense that whenever he thought about it his face would get flushed and the corners of his lips quirk up into a bright smile that would have others staring at him like they had seen a remarkable scene.
Though he loved that intense memorable experience he would rather exchange it all just to hear Zi Han say he loved him. Yi Chen wanted to ignore it but it was like an annoying itch inside his brain that only grew worse with time.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtZi Han felt an icy chill surrounding him. He subconsciously tugged at the quilt but despite wrapping himself up like a zongzi Zi Han still felt cold. This was the thing that forced him to open his eyes only to be met by a face with a smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes.
.....
Zi Han rubbed his eyes before slipping his arm in the gap between Yi Chen’s arm and chest hugging him while asking, “What are you doing?”
Yi Chen hesitated to speak with his mouth opening and closing several times. After finding the least offensive words he clenched his jaw before asking, “What did you dream about?”
Zi Han pulled the quilt over his head while sniffing the familiar rich and hearty cedarwood scent on Yi Chen’s chest.
“I don’t remember,” he said while kissing Yi Chen’s chest hugging him tightly. Yi Chen felt itchy where that feather-light kiss had touched but he couldn’t enjoy the feeling because Zi Han wouldn’t answer his question.
“You said you love someone so how can you forget such a dream?” asked Yi Chen but Zi Han was planning to play dumb all the way. He not only remembered his dream, he remembered it vividly but he didn’t want to talk about it.
He might not want to delve into it but he forgot who he was dealing with. Yi Chen wouldn’t let it go.
While brushing his teeth with the little Nimsel on the sink brushing its tiny buck teeth too, Yi Chen stood by the door in black military gear with green lining representing his rank while saying, “I am leaving. You can follow me later.”
Zi Han, “...”
He spat out his toothpaste and replied, “You always wait for me now you want to leave without me?”
The King of pettiness was starting to surface. Yes, Yi Chen was very petty not just to anyone but to Zi Han. He was going to be petty until Zi Han told him who exactly did he say he loved in his dream.
“Maybe if you tell me who you said you love then I can wait for you,” he said with his brow arched and a slight quirk at the corner of his lips.
Zi Han, “...”
Nimsel, “Wee!”
Yes, even the little nimsel was shocked. What was the tall one playing at? Did he not want his life anymore?
Soon after dropping that bomb, Yi Chen left leaving behind two shocked faces. This was only the beginning of the petty king’s plan.
Zi Han thought he was joking thus when he left his cabin he thought he would find Yi Chen waiting for him outside but nope. The man was gone.
Meanwhile, Li Ran joined Yi Chen at the brig of the cruiser and when he didn’t see Zi Han he asked, “You guys are still fighting?”
Yi Chen lowered his head while answering, “Yes, something like that.”
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm“You should be more like me. Know when to retreat. Like they say happy wife happy life... or in this case happy hus, husband?” said Li Ran with slight hesitation in his tone. Yi Chen knew he was right but aah he really wanted to know who Zi Han said he loved in his dream.
The two soon forgot about it as their focus now rested entirely on the boy restrained in a high-voltage prison. The boy was chained to the chair his head lowered with his hair covering his face.
Yi Chen pressed his fists on the control panel in the observation room while asking, “Has he said anything?”
Li Ran shook his head while scrolling through the feed records. “He said nothing even to Zain and Omari. Do you want to interrogate him now? We can only keep him for so long.”
Yi Chen stared straight at the figure through the glass his thoughts unknown. “No, wait for another ten minutes. Han Han will be here by then.”
Yi Chen was right. Ten minutes on the dot Zi Han stormed in his expression murderous like he was going to kill someone.
When he spotted his target he directly walked over with the little Nimsel and shark plushy acting as backup. He offended the big one so the small one would also be upset.
“Yi Chen,” he said and Li Ran’s eyes widened as he glanced at the door to see if he can get away fast enough.
“Babe, I love you,” said Yi Chen his expression sincere but the explosive force surrounding Zi Han instantly calmed down like he had run out of fuel.
‘Fuck,’ swore Zi Han internally while commending Yi Chen for outsmarting him.
Li Ran glanced back and forth at the two before mouthing to Zi Han, “Say ‘I love you too’.”
Zi Han, “...”
“You stay out of this,” he replied before catching a glimpse of the boy being held captive. After that, he completely forgot what he was mad about his entire focus shifting towards that young man.
“I want to talk to him,” he said and the little Nimsel jumped into Li Ran’s arms while hugging its shark sibling like it was afraid they would be separated.
