Chapter 698 - Travis Scarlet
Arena, Trinity Academy.
The arena was buzzing with excitement. Today was the last day of the competition in Trinity, and the finals were about to begin. What made it even more exciting was that their home teams had managed to reach all the way to the finals.
"We will go with the plan, and crush these people." Melan was obviously the person in the lead. He had taken the position of Melee as he was not good with long ranged weapons.
He then looked at a guy who was standing in front of him with a gloomy aura around him. His gaze was fixed towards the Arcane stands, and it was filled with intense hostility for some reason.
This guy was Olsen Roxley, the son of Omen Roxley, who had passed away a little while ago. He was also the ace of the Trinity in the current event. It was said that he was the best archer in all of the Academies.
Even though the death was labelled as a heroic sacrifice, Oslen sure had a bit of more information on the situation. Yet, he stayed quiet and took advantage of the pitiful gaze people were giving him. He knew what his father was doing in the House, yet he still used this opportunity of his father's death to gain everyone's sympathy, trying to build himself in the House.
If only people knew that his father was not some hero, but a complete scumbag. Things would sure be different for him. He might even be dead by now if the truth was out.
But luckily, that was not the case.
As for why he was looking towards the Arcane with such hostility, it was all due to Max.
Max was one of the reasons that his father was forced into a bad situation, and then later that happened.
He wasn't clear on the details. But, the only person he had the ability to extract revenge for now were these people. So, he was planning to do exactly that.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt"Oslen, don't do something that you will regret later on." Melan warned him. He could clearly understand what this guy's thought process was. To be honest, he wasn't fond of Arcane peeps as well. But, that didn't mean he would do something that shouldn't be done.
As for this guy, Melan already had a fair bit of idea about his situation. Even though he didn't know the details, his grandfather had told him to keep an eye on this fellow. One thing was for sure, Oslen's father wasn't some hero. And, now this guy was using that fake glory to his benefit. It was one thing if he wasn't aware of his father's true nature, but if he was, then that surely would be a proof of his nasty nature.
He was sure this guy would get on the bad side of Lady of the House, and after that he wouldn't have much of a life to live off.
"Let's go.." Melan commanded, and then led his team while Axel did the same on the other side. ᴛʜɪs ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ ɪs ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ʙʏ novelenglish.net . fire(.)nᴇt
Soon, the two teams had entered the Competition ground. The finals had begun..
…
Scarlet House, Ocien.
Max walked around the Villa as he scanned the place.
'They sure are keeping an eye on me. What hospitality…' He muttered inwardly, noticing that a person was always following him everywhere.
But, he just ignored the guy and continued to roam around at his pace.
'It's been a while, but I couldn't detect any Demonic aura..' Max looked around, he was indeed surprised inwardly. This was just like Ovens. He couldn't tell from the surface. These people were definitely more or less humans from outward appearance, and aura. But, things would surely change if he came in contact though.
'No wonder, the old man couldn't find anything.' He now could get why the old man had no idea about these people.
'Should I slip out for a bit?' Max was contemplating inwardly when a voice entered his ears.
"Are you our esteemed guest?"
Max turned his head on hearing the voice, and a figure came into his view.
It was Wilson's half brother, Travis.
"Are you Max, Wilson's friend?" He asked with a smile on his face.
"Yes, I am." Max nodded with a smile, and sent hid palm out for a handshake.
Travis looked at him, and then just shook his hand.
But, for some reason, Max kept hold of him, and even grasped it with both of his hands and shook it vigorously.
"I have been really wanting to meet you ever since Wilson mentioned you. I am really happy to see you."
"Yeah.." Travis gave him an odd look as he finally managed to get his hands out of Max's grasp.
"Well, since you are my brother's friend, I think it's my responsibility to take care of you in his absence," Travis further spoke.
"Hahaha…of course…" Max laughed as he put his arm around his neck.

"You are Wilson's brother, so consider me the same." Max smiled at him, "Anything that Wilson is willing to do for you, I will do too.."
Travis's face twitched. Even though he knew that Max was trying to be friendly, it felt a bit odd. After all, if he was correct, Wilson sure was willing to kill him.
But, he obviously pushed the less significant thoughts behind, and concentrated on the matter at hand.
"If you are free later, then how about accompanying me? I will show you some nice places around the city.." Travis looked at Max, "I used to have Wilson accompanying me as well when he was still around."
Max looked at the guy, and snorted inwardly. But, obviously his face had a sweet smile on it, "Sure.."
"Well, then I will see you later.." Travis didn't remain much longer, and after having a short conversation, he immediately departed.
Max looked at his back, and then at his palm. There was a frown emerging on his face.
The feeling he got from Travis was of a Demon, no doubt.
But, he didn't have the strange feeling that Beli had.
Instead he was like a normal pure Demon.
"Is he not one born from human and demon?" Max frowned. He thought that Travis's mother was from the Royal Tribe. Hence, she was able to give birth even with a human partner.
But, now..
'Could it be...'
