Chapter 1721

Sky pinched his nose and muttered, “How long has it been since a human was last here?”

James said, “The last dragon-slaying expedition was more than 1300 years ago. Since this is the middle of the

ocean, I’d reckon there hasn’t been any human presence around these parts for a millennium. Let’s scout around

for now. There should be signs of the dragon’s activities if it’s still alive.”

Sky scanned his surroundings. There were no signs of any life in this desolate place.

“This way.” James pointed at a path before them and headed in its direction.

Soon, they found the skeletal remains of some unknown creatures on the ground. Some remains were intact, while

the others were completely scattered.

“Huh?”

James momentarily froze before asking, “Why would there be so many skeletal remains in these desolate parts of

the island?”

Sky crouched down and scrutinized the remains, saying, “These skeletal remains do not belong to a human being.

They look like they belong to some sort of macrofauna. But did we come across any animal as big as this on our

way here? Besides, why are there so many skeletons here?”

James lifted his head and looked at the stone wall before him, where there was a wilderness of weeds in its

surroundings. However, no skeletal remains could be found beyond the stone wall.

He leaped past the stone wall and scanned his surroundings. Immediately, he could see footprints on the ground.

Although they were barely discernible, James could still recognize them.

“Sky, over here!” he yelled.

Sky appeared beside James in the blink of an eye and asked, “What’s wrong?”

James pointed at the ground and said, “Look, footprints! Besides, look at the grass over here. They seemed to have

been stepped upon by some sort of creature.”

Sky scrutinized the footprints and nodded, “Indeed… Could something be living here?”

James scanned his surroundings. At that moment, he spotted a cavern beneath the stone wall. The entrance was

barely noticeable. However, the weed in its surroundings had been removed. Someone or something seemed to be

passing through here frequently.

Sky saw the cavern too. He said, “Someone might be living here. We should go have a look. But we have to be on

our guard.”

“Mhm.” James nodded.

The two pressed forward and soon arrived at the entrance of the cavern.

Swoosh!

The moment they appeared at the entrance, a gusty wind blew. Then, a terrifying power came tumbling toward

them.

James and Sky hurriedly catalyzed True Energy to resist the attack. However, they were sent flying by a powerful

force. James staggered a hundred meters backward, while Sky was sent crashing against the stone wall and

collapsed heavily to the ground.

At that moment, James could not care less about Sky’s condition. He hurriedly got up and stared in the direction of

the force.

A hairy humanoid monster walked out of the cavern. From afar, it looked like a gorilla two meters in height.

After getting up, Sky appeared before James and stared at the black gorilla in the distance. Then, they looked at

one another.

James whispered, “Is that a human or an ape?”

“How would I know?” Wearing a grim expression, Sky said, “In any case, I’m sure of one thing. He’s extremely

powerful.”

“I know.” James agreed.

Though he used all of his strength to withstand the attack, he was blown away nonetheless. That would mean that

the monster’s True Energy was greater than his.

Clasping his hands, he shouted, “Kind sir, pardon us for the intrusion. We merely lost our way.”

James’ voice boomed.

However, the hairy monster did nothing but stare at them. Its eyes were blood red in color.

The creature’s face was covered with hair, but they could still see the confounded expression on its face.
