Chapter 1459

Everything happened because the Mount Thunder Sect had the Spiritual Art manual.

“What’s going on?” James tried to get a handle on the situation.

Unfortunately, it seemed that Delainey had completely tuned him out. At that moment, she was entirely focused on

Tapio.

“Delainey, we answer to different masters now. There’s no turning back anymore. You shouldn’t stay here. Go, get

off this mountain if you know what’s good for you,” Tapio gently warned her.

“What do you mean different masters? Who’s your master, Tapio?! You’re a disciple of Mount Thunder Sect, you…”

In response to his warning, Delainey fumed at his indifferent attitude.

“You impertinent child!” Delainey’s words seemed to have struck a nerve with Tapio and he roared furiously at her.

With a flash, he appeared in front of Delainey. He grabbed her by the neck and lifted her off the ground.

Delainey never had a chance to respond to his blinding speed.

This move took even James by surprise.

Judging by his opponent’s speed, he was at least an eighth-rank grandmaster.

That would be the only explanation for his explosive burst of speed.

James did not immediately react to this because he was still confused by the situation.

He was unsure of the relationship between Delainey and the challenger since he heard her address him as her

brother.

Tapio held a vice grip over Delainey’s neck, and her face turned red instantly. Mustering all her strength, she

croaked out her words with great difficulty. “T-Tapio, there’s still a chance for you to turn back. Spiritual Art is evil.

There’s a reason why dad refused to hand it to you. Cough…cough…”

She began to cough and sputter.

James felt concerned that Delainey would end up dying and stepped forward to intervene. “I’m the one you sent

the letter to. She has nothing to do with our duel so let her go.”

Tapio released his grip on Delainey.

Delainey fell to the ground and stumbled backward.

James quickly helped her up while asking, “Are you okay?”

Delainey shook her head with a grimace on her face.

Her eyes were fixated on the frail-looking Tapio. She stepped towards him and asked again, “Tapio, where have you

been for the past ten years?”

“James, prepare for our duel!”

Tapio ignored Delainey.

Suddenly, devastating energy erupted from his body.

The energy rushed up to the sky like a giant dragon, dispersing the clouds in the sky.

Delainey’s jaw hung open when she witnessed this.

Tapio’s body exuded a frightful aura as he stood straight with his hands still held behind his back. His ashen face

was calm and confident as if he believed he was invincible.

James immediately knew his opponent was powerful and was potentially stronger than him after witnessing the

energy he released.

Delainey shouted. “Tapio, don’t…”

A white shadow suddenly flashed in front of her and took her away before she could process what had happened.

The person who carried her away was one of the women that carried the sedan chair earlier.

The woman placed Delainey into the sedan chair and carried her away.

Tapio’s energy continued to spread throughout Mt. Thunder Pass. His white robe and long black hair danced like

leaves in the wind.

James raised the Blade of Justice and held it sideways; its edge pointed at Tapio’s neck. He looked at Tapio and

asked cautiously, “Are you a disciple of Mount Thunder Sect? I’ve no conflict or grievance with you, so why have you

challenged me? Also, tell me where you’ve kept Delilah.”

“You’re wrong, James. I’m not a disciple of Mount Thunder Sect. You’re right that we don’t have any malice

between the two of us. I simply challenged you because you’re one of the strongest people in our current

generation.

“You see, I’ve always been rather proud of myself and I believed I was the best among the younger generation.

“However, you suddenly appeared and you improved at such an astonishing rate. This is why I wanted to take you

on in a duel.

“I don’t have any motives other than that. I just wanted to challenge you and prove myself.

“As for the woman you mentioned, she is indeed with me. Recently, many people have come looking for this

woman. I just so happened to save her, and if you can defeat me, I’ll hand her over to you.”

“You don’t have to worry about anything else. Come at me with your full strength to bear.”

James looked at Tapio’s smirking face.

From his appearance, Tapio seemed like he would be close in age to James.

From their earlier conversation, James could tell that Tapio was a few years older than him.

“Just now, you said you had a different master. Who do you answer to?”

James stared at Tapio intently.

Initially, he had no suspicions about Tapio.

After overhearing Tapio and Delainey’s exchange, it became clear to James that someone else was behind him.

Unfortunately, he could not deduce who this person might be.

“Hmph!”

Tapio snickered and said as he grinned wickedly, “I’ll tell you if you defeat me. If you lose, then you’re not qualified

to get any information from me.”
